What travelers are saying
- Aeken334 contributionsThe Amber city of the World mesmerized me. Preserved history which shows us the past, teaching us lesson. Delicious and affordable food and cheap über rides. The port is also a sight. I will surely come back ❤️❤️❤️. I will personally say that some people arent that friendly. A bonus to experience the 2nd best Christmas market in Europe.Written March 10, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jay GallSofia, Bulgaria169 contributionsGdansk is teeming with WW2 sights so I was excited to see what the museum had in store. I wasn’t disappointed! This is a very modern and well laid out experience that brings you into the brutal story of WW2 in Poland. Lots of fascinating relics and immersive dioramas to explore. The only downside is that it was very busy and often hard to concentrate at times due to the crowds. Still, a must when in Gdansk.Written March 6, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ManchesterSunLondon, UK217 contributionsWe visited on a Monday (contrary to some reviews it’s not free that day!) and found it well worth the ticket price.
Audio tour is included and informative, took the 1.5hr option which was more than enough. Available in several languages. Lots to read (with polish and English text) watch and explore along the route. Creative displays and interactive exhibits.
Couple of cafes on site, had coffee on the ground floor one. Free cloakroom and small gift shop on site.Written February 11, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We had lunch in a cafe on this street, so there you are. Stroll slowly.Written March 15, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is quite simple but the most important thing is the old astronomical clock. It reminds you the one in Prag bit the difference is that everyday it only ticks once around 11.57 am to noon and it is quite a sight. Also you must not forget to climb to the tower where you can see the panoramic view of the city. Definitely the most important place to visit in townWritten February 16, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ian A45 contributionsA truly amazing historic site. To think this is one of the first places where WW2 started, and we all know what was to happen in the following years. A moving place as well, with the impressive memorial and cemetery. A must visit for anyone interested in WW2 and in the area.Written February 5, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are tall ships in the harbour, museums, men fishing, a carousel and nearby is Amber Street.
The swing bridge is interesting and the Gdansk sign is in the garden by the Wheel.
