The Old Town of Olomouc is full of amazing sights such as fountains, picturesque buildings, pillars and columns. Out of the latter, Holy Trinity Column stands out. Being one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, one cannot expect anything less impressive.

The Astronomical Clock in Prague, Czech Republic, is a mesmerizing architectural marvel that adds to the stunning atmosphere of this vibrant city. Located in the Old Town Square, the clock is a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of Prague's rich history and culture.

The Astronomical Clock, also known as the Orloj, dates back to the 15th century and is the oldest working astronomical clock in the world. Its intricate design and functionality make it a true masterpiece. Every hour, on the hour, the clock comes to life as the figures on the clock face move, accompanied by the chiming of bells. This captivating display attracts crowds of spectators who gather to witness this magical moment.

The atmosphere surrounding the Astronomical Clock is truly enchanting. The Old Town Square itself is a bustling hub of activity, with lively street performers, charming cafes, and historic buildings. The square is always filled with a vibrant energy, both day and night, as locals and tourists alike gather to soak in the beauty of the surroundings.

As the Astronomical Clock is located in the heart of Prague, it is surrounded by the city's stunning architecture. The Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings create a backdrop that adds to the charm and character of the place. Exploring the narrow streets and picturesque alleyways around the clock is a delightful experience, with surprises awaiting at every turn.

In addition to its visual beauty, the Astronomical Clock holds historical significance. It serves as a reminder of Prague's medieval past and the ingenuity of the craftsmen who created it. Visitors can learn about the clock's history and the astronomical functions it serves through informative displays and guided tours.

Overall, the Astronomical Clock in Prague is a captivating sight that adds to the already stunning atmosphere of this great city. Its intricate design, historical significance, and the lively surroundings make it a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Prague.

In love with this place. What a beautiful spot for a romantic walk in spring. It's full of flowers and different kinds of trees and plants. I'd really recommend anyone to visit and spend a couple of hours walking around and enjoying the atmosphere. It's not crowded (at least not when we were there) and the sound of the stream makes it even more enjoyable.

We went on a rainy day in the area but it would have been worthwhile whatever the weather. This is a very well thought-out museum with lots of interesting hands-on activities for the kids - including a sit-in gyroscope which our 7 year-old loved. Good value too.

As far as zoos go, Olomouc zoo seems to offer its animals at least a certain degree of habitat, although the bears enclosure could be better. There is good work with regards to rescuing animals, ie the owl enclosure. There is pleasant forest shade for hot, summer days and optional extras for kids who want something with a little more adrenaline. The restaurant is pleasant, reasonably priced and overall, a good day out. There have been complaints about the carpark system which i can't comment on as we fortunately don't rely on cars to get around. The public transport system from Olomouc is great and it's an easy cycle ride away.

Dominating the upper town square, this building has been spectacularly renovated. It has been well worth the wait.

Beautiful architecture and so important historically.

I liked this new fountain, which was created in 2002 as part of the reconstruction of the Upper Square. Especially two big turtles were very nice. One of them was situated in the water, but the second one was located next to the fountain, much to the delight of children that could climb or sat on it. There were quite a lot of benches around and people sat there, relaxed and enjoyed watching the fountain.
