What travelers are saying
- Frantisek RuzhaPrague, Czech Republic471 contributionsThe Church of St. Wenceslas in Olomouc has a long and rich history, similar to the Church of St. Vitus in Prague. The Prague Church as a rotunda was founded in the first half of the 10th century, the church in Olomouc is less than 200 years younger. Now both of these churches appear to be magnificent cathedrals.Written September 24, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- RichardK938West Palm Beach, FL663 contributionsThis was a nice memorial to the Czech plague victims. Very elaborate sculptures around the entire perimeter. It's even more impressive at night when lit up.Written February 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Michael Stuart EOlomouc, Czech Republic262 contributionsAs far as zoos go, Olomouc zoo seems to offer its animals at least a certain degree of habitat, although the bears enclosure could be better. There is good work with regards to rescuing animals, ie the owl enclosure. There is pleasant forest shade for hot, summer days and optional extras for kids who want something with a little more adrenaline. The restaurant is pleasant, reasonably priced and overall, a good day out. There have been complaints about the carpark system which i can't comment on as we fortunately don't rely on cars to get around. The public transport system from Olomouc is great and it's an easy cycle ride away.Written May 29, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- WaterloonieWaterloo, Canada1,332 contributionsDominating the upper town square, this building has been spectacularly renovated. It has been well worth the wait.
Beautiful architecture and so important historically.Written June 28, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - SLRHarrogate, UK100 contributionsThis church is huge and the decoration inside is stunning. Built on top of a hill overlooking the valley and Olomouc you can look back and see the pilgrim road. The church is more a cathedral in size and beauty. Well worth a visit.Written August 29, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- EdGilRalDurham, NC22 contributionsStopped off in town for a couple of hours. Was in town square at noon when this clock started announcing the hours. I understand that this clock was built (?) in 1954, which explains the line of different workers who parade outside the building, not behind glass windows like Prague. This display went on for about six (6) minutes. At the end a cock crows and the show is over. I found it entertaining but a bit boring and did laugh at the crowing as to me it was unexpected.Written January 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- PhilipRylahBratislava, Slovakia233 contributionsWe went on a rainy day in the area but it would have been worthwhile whatever the weather. This is a very well thought-out museum with lots of interesting hands-on activities for the kids - including a sit-in gyroscope which our 7 year-old loved. Good value too.Written August 12, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dickdob1053York, UK74 contributionsIt is a very well presented collection with most objects labelled in very good English as well as Czech. The Archbishop of Olomouc was a major political player in European history and this museum really allows you to understand the roots of his power. The volunteer ladies appear somewhat stern but are actually very friendly and willing to help although they do not all speak English.Written November 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Frantisek RuzhaPrague, Czech Republic471 contributionsSt. Moritz is the most sympathetic church in Olomouc. On the one hand with its simple exterior, on the other hand with its viewing platform at the top. Inside is the organ of the best sound in the whole Czech Republic. Come to Mass and listen to this organ.Written September 24, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Barbara S54 contributionsIf you are in Olomouc visiting the Museum of Modern Arts is a must. Personally, I enjoyed the collection of 3rd floor the most where you can find the newest masterpieces. From this floor you can also climb up to the attic and enjoy the sweet view.Written March 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Beatrix TBrno, Czech Republic295 contributionsI only saw the building from the outside during a walk by the river and in the outskirts of Olomouc, but it was already impressive enough. Beautiful place, it's worth getting out of the city center for.Written September 13, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- PavlaPavlaChrudim, Czech Republic4,910 contributionsI liked this new fountain, which was created in 2002 as part of the reconstruction of the Upper Square. Especially two big turtles were very nice. One of them was situated in the water, but the second one was located next to the fountain, much to the delight of children that could climb or sat on it. There were quite a lot of benches around and people sat there, relaxed and enjoyed watching the fountain.Written June 20, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- 545medvaBudapest, Hungary3,972 contributionsAs a barock church it is very impressive. The inner decoration is really very nice as usual in barck churches.Written March 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Morrie GLincolnwood14 contributionsMain reason for going to see a memorial to the crew of a B-24 Liberator bomber shot down in WW II. Half the crew survived. My uncle did not. The names of all of the crew members are listed on the impressive and tasteful monument. This was created by the Czech Association of Airmen in appreciation for the American effort in the war.Written November 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
