- S.OasisIsrael30 contributionsA very nice cathedral at the center of old town. has impressive architecture and stained glass. On outside wall has remains eminder of this place's darker side of anti-semitism (statue of a sow) which is important reminder.Written July 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SashaCTHong Kong, China85 contributionsIf you are interested in modern architecture, you cannot afford to miss this opportunity - full access to a meticulously-restored 1920s villa designed by Mies. It is such a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with Mies's understanding of space. We went on a 90-minute tour with a guide (if you are not a hard-core architecture buff, you may want to consider the shorter option). Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and spoke good English. Can't recommend it strongly enough!Written June 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Peggy MStornoway, UK151 contributionsWalked through the park and climbed up to this castle and walked round the garderns and through some areas of the castle.Lovely views from different areas in the gardens but visibility was poor as damp cold day.The paths were covered in leaves and wet so slippery as you went through the park, but it was Autumn.Written December 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dusan H3 contributionsVery nice attraction with a great guide. Highly recommend. You can also accomodate here, but that seemed to us a bit too scary. 😃Written September 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Grog4 contributionsIf you plan to swim, be sure to check signs that indicate the level of bacteria in the water. It was at safe levels this time! We even went without a phone and it was so easy to navigate to from Brno city center. Just so nice to relax in the sun.Written August 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dusan H3 contributionsExposition is great. The place is dirty. They should take more care of it. When you want to go to a bar, you have to find a clean table.Written August 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Martin VPrague, Czech Republic255 contributionsBrno zoo is smaller among Czech/Moravian zoo, but its design will let you to spend there 3-4 enjoyable hours, if you enjoy walking up to the hill or back down. If not, you can use a little zoo train, but we preferred walking all the way. Our seven years old daughter was amused all the time and pancakes on the top filled the energy back. You can use tram, tickets can be purchased online or at the place. Note, that cards are not accepted on majority of refreshment spots inside the zoo, which is the most significant drawback. Also, the food selection is not inspired by healthy cuisine.Written July 18, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - UGM_BRNOBrno, Czech Republic3,352 contributionsThe Brno observatory followed its lucky star and decided to promote planets and other universal objects in the way undestandable to everyone, via models. The event is named the Festival of planets no matter there is also the model of Moon. People of any age come and discover the beauty of the Earth both in day and at night, the planet Mars and the closest star the Sun. Apart the big balls navigating you to the planetarium you will find out the crashed unidentified flying object, realm of nembulae, chance to see a film in the open air cinema. Festive days in summer are fantastic, but do not worry if you plan to come in winter, there is always something thrilling, new and interesting. Just go and discover the macrocosmos and find yourself. Take your friends with you, the more, the merrier.Written August 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sheri m13 contributionsVery interesting museum telling the story of the Roma people. The section on their Holocaust experience was especially enlightening. Museum is well laid out and curated. - Mirosl@vPrague, Czech Republic1,985 contributionsIt was a short visit compare to other churches seen, and to breath a spiritual atmosphere, soothing little bit in our daily pace, between our lunch and moving to visit the business event near... - Carol HDe Pere, WI1,074 contributionsThis square, literally "cabbage market" has served as a vegetable market since the middle ages, and has even kept its original sloping shape. Its main adornment is the Parnassus Fountain, which looks like a cave. Among the buildings lining the square are the Dietrichstein Palace (at the square's southern end), and the Reduta Theater, one of the oldest theaters in central Europe. And don't forget to visit the statue of Wolfgang Mozart with the head of an adult, and the body of a child. Mozart gave a concert here in front of the Reduta at age 11 in 1767.Written December 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sheri m13 contributionsInteresting tour of an underground storage area. Although there was some written material in English, the tour was only available in Czech. - Relax460528573752 contributionsMy colleague and I are retired army officers with a professional interest in military history. As such we extensively researched available guides and requested a bespoke tour. Helena delivered everything I requested and so much more. She truly is an expert on the whole Brno area and in particular the Austerlitz battlefield. This expertise is the result of extensive study and is hugely impressive.
Helena collected us from our accommodation exactly on time and back at the end of a long and quite brilliant day. Helena's background is as a professional educator and it shows in her patient and meticulous approach. It is also helped enormously by her warm personality and infectious good humour. We also enjoyed the presence of her dog Marko who is exceptionally well trained.
Thank you Helena for a superb visit. It really could not have gone better. You even arranged the perfect visibility! Every best wish from John and JeremyWritten May 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
