Stunning architecture that imposes itself on the Brno city skyline. Fabulous detail on the exterior and substantial views of the whole cathedral gives completely different aspects as you walk around it. You can climb up the clock tower and see a view of the city from each side. Plus a small museum of artefacts and decorative religious clothing. The interior is an amazing space with beautiful nave and surrounded by opulent decorations. Informative parts to read on its history. In a lovey part of the city with nearby park. But still close to popular areas of the city.

If you are interested in modern architecture, you cannot afford to miss this opportunity - full access to a meticulously-restored 1920s villa designed by Mies. It is such a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with Mies's understanding of space. We went on a 90-minute tour with a guide (if you are not a hard-core architecture buff, you may want to consider the shorter option). Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and spoke good English. Can't recommend it strongly enough!

Spilberk Castle is a nice little walk from the city center. It is easily accessible and the ascent is minimal but the views are fantastic. The castle exterior is impressive but is minimalist inside which makes sense since it was a jail for some time. The views from the ramparts are the best. It's quiet up there too.

Brno has a good mix of old and new in close proximity to each other. Although you never escape the modern parts, the old town cobbled stones and architecture is substantial and provides various places to visit. The old town clock tower, the market square, churches and nearby cathedral all help you imagine those old days and experience history of the region. The town does have a lot of vehicles parked in places that spoil the view at times but the centre is very pedestrianised. Watch out for the trams and food delivery people on scooters. The area felt safe and locals are friendly. Pretty well kept too, considering how busy the place is.

Probably the biggest and main square in the city. Beautiful buildings around and also the church can be seen. Lot of locals and tourists

If you plan to swim, be sure to check signs that indicate the level of bacteria in the water. It was at safe levels this time! We even went without a phone and it was so easy to navigate to from Brno city center. Just so nice to relax in the sun.

A lovely park with paths for runs and walks. Play areas for children of all ages. Love the dogs everywhere. Some not on a leash but all well behaved.

Brno zoo is smaller among Czech/Moravian zoo, but its design will let you to spend there 3-4 enjoyable hours, if you enjoy walking up to the hill or back down. If not, you can use a little zoo train, but we preferred walking all the way. Our seven years old daughter was amused all the time and pancakes on the top filled the energy back. You can use tram, tickets can be purchased online or at the place. Note, that cards are not accepted on majority of refreshment spots inside the zoo, which is the most significant drawback. Also, the food selection is not inspired by healthy cuisine.

This place is 101 years young. There are trees that remember the beginning of the university garden in 1922 and there are new artefacts you could not see anywhere else. I love being surrounded with beauty natural and made by artists, sometimes I take a good book and read it sitting on a bench in this oasis in the middle of the city. There is a new fence around the garden catching your eyes and attracting you to enter. There is a low admission fee to enter the green houses, there is no admission , if you wish to relax in the garden. Have fun and be inspired.

My family visited the castle by taking the boat from the resevior. The castle is in a really beautiful spot and towers above the countryside. There are a few courtyards and a tower to turn and a small exhibition currently about land use. There's a place to get food and a wine shop. Traveling to the castle and tourning was a half day activity.

I was lucky being invited to visit this Brno villa designed by Ernst Wiesner while rooms were full of flowers arranged by contemporary floral designers. One more thing attracted my attention - the fashion parade - hommage to Elsa Schiaparelli. My friend and me had our hats on as well and we applauded to beautiful ladies and their creations. We had enjoyed the inspiring moments and wish you to have the fall of grace too.

I think there is little that can be faulted.
Yes, the driveway is horrible, but I hope they're working on that. Hotel absolutely perfect, staff lovely and food adequate. Lovely clean room and nice one key hotel and sauna system. What is the weak point of sauna worlds in winter is the lack of resting places. You walk a bit before you lie down but it can be worked out. What doesn't belong in a sauna is a mobile phone and taking photos. I consider this a big shortcoming and should be controlled. Next time I go I will prepare a kidney :-))

We went there on the first day they were testing their new menu. The cocktails were super unique and interesting, very creative blends of different tastes and textures. They were all created by staff members! Speaking of the staff, they were incredibly friendly and we chatted about the story of this place and of each cocktail. The atmosphere and design concept is also super cool. A great experience, don’t miss it if you visit Brno!

Captivating story, thrilling atmosphere and great brain teasers. Operating staff is very friendly and helpful - they make the whole story more believable. Very nice experience - too bad you can't go to the same room twice. :-)
