Stunning architecture that imposes itself on the Brno city skyline. Fabulous detail on the exterior and substantial views of the whole cathedral gives completely different aspects as you walk around it. You can climb up the clock tower and see a view of the city from each side. Plus a small museum of artefacts and decorative religious clothing. The interior is an amazing space with beautiful nave and surrounded by opulent decorations. Informative parts to read on its history. In a lovey part of the city with nearby park. But still close to popular areas of the city.

Spilberk Castle is a nice little walk from the city center. It is easily accessible and the ascent is minimal but the views are fantastic. The castle exterior is impressive but is minimalist inside which makes sense since it was a jail for some time. The views from the ramparts are the best. It's quiet up there too.

What an incredible piece of history. We did the self-guided tour and it was... awesome. Thinking of that space being built when it was, and what it was for is really sobering.

I'm glad they are able to offer it as place to learn and apparently, party. :)

Brno has a good mix of old and new in close proximity to each other. Although you never escape the modern parts, the old town cobbled stones and architecture is substantial and provides various places to visit. The old town clock tower, the market square, churches and nearby cathedral all help you imagine those old days and experience history of the region. The town does have a lot of vehicles parked in places that spoil the view at times but the centre is very pedestrianised. Watch out for the trams and food delivery people on scooters. The area felt safe and locals are friendly. Pretty well kept too, considering how busy the place is.

Exposition is great. The place is dirty. They should take more care of it. When you want to go to a bar, you have to find a clean table.

Probably the biggest and main square in the city. Beautiful buildings around and also the church can be seen. Lot of locals and tourists

If you plan to swim, be sure to check signs that indicate the level of bacteria in the water. It was at safe levels this time! We even went without a phone and it was so easy to navigate to from Brno city center. Just so nice to relax in the sun.

Much smaller than others we have visited but still worth the stop. Friendly staff and useful information sheet and boards.

This was not originally on my to-do list. I happened upon a listing for it, which piqued my interest. The museum is not on the main square, so you do have to walk a bit to get there, but I am so glad that I went. I am from North America, where most of my knowledge was from movies, so almost everything in the museum was new to me. I learned so much and am glad I went to the museum. I was given the opportunity to view the rooms using an audio presentation of a book with the same information. I was also able to pick English as my language for either the audio or the book. I spent roughly 1.5 hours going through the museum. I left with an admiration for the Romani and their struggles. I would encourage everyone to visit the Museum of Romani Culture. If I come back to Brno, I will definitely be going for another visit.

Second biggest ossury after the one near Prague but it's actually pretty small. Takes all of 10 minutes to see so it's not great value time wise. But it is important history wise and there are some lovely works of art alongside the bones. Plus it has been very well restored and there is accompanied music by local composers which is a nice touch. Don't be put off by the surrounding construction, it's still worth a visit.

Fascinating museum, very well done. Great place to visit with kids or with anyone interested in technology. The museum is a brief and inexpensive tram ride from the city center. Loved the car and music exhibits. Don't miss the hands on exhibits on the third floor.

The Brno observatory followed its lucky star and decided to promote planets and other universal objects in the way undestandable to everyone, via models. The event is named the Festival of planets no matter there is also the model of Moon. People of any age come and discover the beauty of the Earth both in day and at night, the planet Mars and the closest star the Sun. Apart the big balls navigating you to the planetarium you will find out the crashed unidentified flying object, realm of nembulae, chance to see a film in the open air cinema. Festive days in summer are fantastic, but do not worry if you plan to come in winter, there is always something thrilling, new and interesting. Just go and discover the macrocosmos and find yourself. Take your friends with you, the more, the merrier.

This square, literally "cabbage market" has served as a vegetable market since the middle ages, and has even kept its original sloping shape. Its main adornment is the Parnassus Fountain, which looks like a cave. Among the buildings lining the square are the Dietrichstein Palace (at the square's southern end), and the Reduta Theater, one of the oldest theaters in central Europe. And don't forget to visit the statue of Wolfgang Mozart with the head of an adult, and the body of a child. Mozart gave a concert here in front of the Reduta at age 11 in 1767.

It was a short visit compare to other churches seen, and to breath a spiritual atmosphere, soothing little bit in our daily pace, between our lunch and moving to visit the business event near... We visited the church only shortly, quietly and took a few photographs...

A lovely park with paths for runs and walks. Play areas for children of all ages. Love the dogs everywhere. Some not on a leash but all well behaved.
