If you are interested in modern architecture, you cannot afford to miss this opportunity - full access to a meticulously-restored 1920s villa designed by Mies. It is such a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with Mies's understanding of space. We went on a 90-minute tour with a guide (if you are not a hard-core architecture buff, you may want to consider the shorter option). Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and spoke good English. Can't recommend it strongly enough!

I was lucky being invited to visit this Brno villa designed by Ernst Wiesner while rooms were full of flowers arranged by contemporary floral designers. One more thing attracted my attention - the fashion parade - hommage to Elsa Schiaparelli. My friend and me had our hats on as well and we applauded to beautiful ladies and their creations. We had enjoyed the inspiring moments and wish you to have the fall of grace too.

A fascinating villa and garden, one of the architectural gems in Brno.
It's impressive outside and inside. There are permanent and temporary exhibitions. The renovated house, especially the main hall, is a delight for design lovers. The exhibition is a good opportunity to learn about the architect and his works.
It's a short tram ride from the city centre and well worth a visit.

Yet another pretty building on the central square with some very nice details, worth a stop on during a walk and a short look.

Amazing place, not just because of it's own spirit but also the people who are for long years attracted by this place. I was the lucky person who had spent few student years in one of the flats above gallery and will never forget. For me, it's real heritage of first republic.

The Dum U Ctyr mamlasu is a building on Svobody Square. The name of the building translates as the House At The Four Men, I think for the four oversized sculptural supports, on the facade of the building. The facade of the building is a nice Neo-Renaissance style building that I think primarily houses shops and offices. Sadly none of the shops matched the beautiful facade. I did wander into the courtyard of the building, but it looked depressing with empty shop fronts and empty.

The facade is pretty. Pity I can’t say the same for the shops which at the risk of sounding snobbish, detracts from the beautiful sight.

Quite surprisingly, some of the major national institutions of the Czech Republic are not located in Prague, this is one of them. The building itself is interesting too.
