What travelers are saying
- Markéta Č20 contributionsA unique architectural gem. The guide was very enthusiastic and his narration was captivating. The shop is also excellent, where the visitor can pick up not only small souvenirs, but also valuable literature dedicated directly to the villa or the topic of modern architecture.Written April 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - UGM_BRNOBrno, Czech Republic3,340 contributionsI was lucky being invited to visit this Brno villa designed by Ernst Wiesner while rooms were full of flowers arranged by contemporary floral designers. One more thing attracted my attention - the fashion parade - hommage to Elsa Schiaparelli. My friend and me had our hats on as well and we applauded to beautiful ladies and their creations. We had enjoyed the inspiring moments and wish you to have the fall of grace too.Written November 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - UGM_BRNOBrno, Czech Republic3,340 contributions2018 is the year we commemorate the 100 years of foundation of Czechoslovakia, the
home of the Czech and Slovak nations. This sovereign state in Central Europe existed from October 1918, whenits independence from the Austro-Hungarian Empire was declared until 1993 when the nations decided to separate as the Czech Republic and Slovakia. During May and June there was a festive event called REPUBLIKA with displays of great moments of the period 1918 - 2018. The fair ground itself became an exhibit for this very place was founded 90 years ago to celebrate successful results of the first ten years of Czechoslovakia in 1928. This year there was a chance to see monumental work by the famous Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist Alfons Mucha the "Slav Epic".More contemporary artists work was shown in the pavillon G named as the "Avant Garde". My beloved Brno public libraries (Moravian library and the Library of Jiri Mahen) were located in the Morava pavillon and they satisfied all needs of those who are in love with literature. People who like sport and games could stop in the pavillon called Re:lax Zone to observe the memorable sport victories and less dramatic moments when family playes basketball for fun.Written July 8, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - macedonboyGlasgow, UK169,653 contributionsThis cute little museum is the creation of the owner who built the models being exhibits. The models depicts scenes of the nativity, scenes from the bible, models of Moravian villages including churches, dance halls and farms etc. Some of the models are even animated with some of the models chopping wood, dancing, animals being herded etc.
A fun little experience and I suspect model enthusiast would get particularly excited about it.Written October 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Miroslava MBrno, Czech Republic2 contributionsAmazing place, not just because of it's own spirit but also the people who are for long years attracted by this place. - UGM_BRNOBrno, Czech Republic3,340 contributionsI am a big fan of all concerts where ONDRAS is present, the summer ones are the best ones. I absolutely adore their songs and dances in the summer open air scene under the Old Town Hall of Brno. The vibrating energy of artists is able to bring alive our own history and culture, at least the most beautiful parts of it. The very first pages of history of this ensemble were written in 1954, so artists celebrate it performing "Echoes" - the best music, mosaic of successful programmes of the past. Congratulations to your anniversary, I am very proud that you are part of the city of Brno culture.Written August 31, 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
