- Neil KLiverpool, UK614,658 contributionsMy twin brother Stephen and I crossed over Charles Bridge ,is there a more beautiful bridge in the world,walking under Old Town Bridge Tower onto Krizovnicke Namesti you are met with the stunning St Francis Of Assisi Church and what a great introduction to the magnificent Old Town of Prague.
St Francis Of Assisi Church ( Kostel Svateho Frantiska Z Assis ) was constructed in the 17th century and is the resident Order Of The Knights Of The Cross With The Red Star which is an order founded in the 13th century,the church is a beautiful example of Baroque architecture and was constructed under the guidance of architect Jean Baptiste Mathey ,I love the exterior of the church ,such a wonderful and evocative looking church building ,interior is stunning but alas on my latest visit to Prague I never ventured inside but it's truly amazing ,if you're planning a holiday to this beautiful Bohemian city it's a church to most definitely check out and easy to locate as you enter the Old Town from Charles Bridge.Written March 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Enjoyed the all pieces the trio played, especially the pianist who was breathtaking. - Joanne121 contributionsWorld famous musicians from the Czech Philharmony and Prague Symphony Orchestra with famous Parnas (3 violinists, 1 Cello and 1 Bass) played a selection from Vivaldi, Bizet, Debussy, Ravel, Smetana, Strauss, Mozart, Schubert, Bach, Tchaikovsky, and Dvorak. They were very good and we really enjoyed the concert. Many of his personal possessions are on display, along with scores and programs from his performances. It gts stuffy and hot hot hot, but thank God they forbad smoking downstairs about a year ago. Two bars with nice selection of drinks and good coffee.
