What travelers are saying
- BJ8292729221 contributionsWe went expecting this to be a fairly small zoo (we didn’t no research lol) but we were pleasantly surprised upon walking round. It is absolutely huge, by far the biggest zoo we’ve ever been to. I would 100% go again, there is every animal you could ever think of with some fantastic enclosures and plenty of space for all the animals. It is slightly run down but absolutely doesn’t take away from the fantastic experience. Would absolutely recommend to anyone heading to Prague but be warned you probably need 4-6 hours to get round properly without rushing. Be prepared for lots and lots and lotsssss of walking!!!Written January 16, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tommy599Two Rivers, WI905 contributionsWe lucked out as the gardens would have been closed down for the winter come next week.
The large pond / the statues / the peacocks / the aviary/ and the concrete artist wall with all the faces is something to see.Written November 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s a lovely place to sit outside and unwind, especially after checking out the yellow penguins and the intriguing Černý baby sculptures.Written November 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Samir NRaleigh, NC37 contributionsIt seems a little bit away from the more touristy spots but easily worth the hike. You might also consider a taxi here and then walk back towards the center of things. It provides a view opposite to the more common ones from the castle or from Letna Gardens and helps bring the geography together.
Also, as yo descend back in the direction of Charles Bridge, there is a wonderful bottle shops with beers from Czech Republic and Latvia which are considerably more robust (and tastier in our opinion) then the prevalent pilsners and lagers in most bars.Written December 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Plus, we wanted to visit somewhere with our dog to tire her out. The Prague Botanical Garden checked both boxes for us. Because we visited in early October, there were not a lot of flowers in bloom, but we still enjoyed seeing the flower, plants and trees.Written October 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ra11 contributionsThis was a lovely half day out. When you get to the McDonald’s, walk a tiny bit down the ‘car road’ in front of it heading left and a few steps in you’ll see a path down the forest. We took the path and at the end of it saw a bistro with a lake. If you buy a few drinks or ice cream you can use their benches and facilities to swim in the lake. Don’t forget your swimsuit. After that we took a small stroll through a wonderful leafy path and caught another tram down the road..Written August 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pub Monster NeilLiverpool, UK78,044 contributionsVltava Beach is a bit of a curio ,its not a beach in the truest sense ,in fact it's more stones and pebbles than sand but it's a nice spot to take some photo's of Charles Bridge, Legions Bridge and the wonderful architecture Old Town side of The Vltava River, its also the haunt of a bunch of ducks and swans that get fed here by the locals and tourists, if you're in the Mala Strana area its most definitely well worth checking out.Written March 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Koen V72 contributionsVery nice island to escape from the crowd of the city centre.
Nice views over the city.
There was a small market with some food & drinks stalls where we bought a refreshing homemade ice tea.
We also saw a coypu (beaver/rat) family.
They were cute but it's prohibited to feed them...Written September 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marion39 contributionsA very pretty formal garden, with a large selection of trees, all named. Begonias in flower and trees starting to show the autumnal colours. Easy to walk around, with great views of the castle and cathedral. Within 5 minutes walk of the castle. Quiet and peaceful, a good break from the crowds.Written October 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pub Monster NeilLiverpool, UK78,044 contributionsShooters Island aka Strelecky Ostrov is a great little island in the middle ( sort of ) of the Vltava River.
Walking across Legii Most ( Legions Bridge ) and about half way across is a set of stairs or an elevator that brings you onto Shooters Island, there's a nice cafe here and a bar which are fun to visit, iced cold beers in such a lovely location, what's not to love, views of the Vltava River are awesome and the views of the architecture both sides of the river are amazing, it's just a really good place to visit if you're planning a holiday to Prague.Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Can imagine would be slippy on way down in winter so wear good shoes. Did not go up tower. Have 20 kr change for the toilets at the top! Exited out of the park past fruit orchards and walked across to the castle district so would suggest this for a day trip.Written September 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
