A real masterpiece and a must to see when you are in Prague .
To be able to see the performance correctly, every hour, you should stand just in front of the clock, you can then see the figures when the gaps open and the kucku sounds

Nerudova street in Prague - one of the most iconic streets in the city - amongst others of-course - going from Malostranska square to the Prague Castle.
You can go up , or you can descend from the Castle towards the Lesser and Old Town of Prague (Charles Bridge maybe ...).
Why is it interesting - well the beautiful baroques style buildings - those today are home to embassies, hotels, cafés, restaurants, shops , you name it... the name of the street is taken from Jan Neruda, famous Czech writer and journalist (the house he lived in has a bas-relief at the upper level and 2 suns on the front) who lived on this street.
If you are not into architecture , but looking for some souvenirs or a place to have a drink or grab some food, on this street you may find some very good choices, don't forget to put this street on your itinerary when visiting Prague.

Praha 2 is one of my favourite districts in Prague, home to Vinohrady district ,its a district renowned for its grand architecture, its beautiful pastel coloured buildings and its leafy park area's, its also full of great pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants, its got a great vibe, love it here ,a great starting point to explore this district is Namesti Miru ( Peace Square ) ,a beautiful square dominated by the fantastic looking Church Of St Ludmila, lots of interesting sites around not just this square but the Vinohrady district itself, if you're planning a holiday to Prague its a district I highly recommend you visit.

The casemates can be visited only in a guided tour. The visit consists in watching an informative video and then a not very long walk through some dark galleries, where there is nothing to see. At the end you'll visit Gorlice hall, the highlight of the tour. The entrance is at Cihelna Brana.

I believe most people who visit this fascinating city for the first time will most definitely visit districts such as the New Town,Old Town, Lesser Town, Castle District and why not ,amazing architecture and amazing pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants but some of the other districts in this city although not as pretty are most certainly as interesting, one such district is the Zizkov district.
This is more a working class area ,landmark feature here is obviously the famous Zizkov Tower, architecture here is good and the nightlife scene superb, there's so many great pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants in this district which is a more authentic sense of what this city is all about ,I love it here ,to reach this district is easy, its a short train. bus or metro ride ,its most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Prague.

Up,out and about on a beautiful sunny morning, my twin brother and I decided to jump the tram down to Namesti Miru, its a square I always look forward to visiting on any holiday I take to Prague.
This square is dominated by the imposing Church Of St Ludmila ,all around this square are great looking buildings and some nice monuments plus there's lots of great pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants, its a vibrant square in the vibrant Vinohrady district that's well worth a visit if you're planning a holiday to Prague.

This is the square in the Castle District (Hradcany) that most will pass through when visiting Prague Castle. There is some beautiful architecture to be seen on the square and it is where the Schwarzenbersky Palace that houses one of the branches of the National Gallery is found. This is also where you will find the historic Matthias Gate which is the main entry to Prague Castle. Sentries are on duty and there is a changing of the guard every hour although the main changing of the guard ceremony takes place at noon every day.

My twin brother and I decided to jump the tram down to the Zizkov District, we came up from Jiriho Z Podebrad Metro Station which brings you on to Jiriho Z Podebrad Square, a really good square and a great starting point to explore around this area .
At present the square here is a building site, lots of work going on but you can still view the beautiful Kostel Nejvetejsiiho Srdce Pane ,the most beautiful church in this district, all around the square are some great looking buildings and there's plenty of pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants, its most definitely a square to check out if you're planning a holiday to Prague.

I've been visiting Prague for 30 years ,love this fascinating city, stayed in most every district but for the last decade or so I've always stayed in the Smichov district.
This district was once the epicentre for heavy industry, the once mighty Ringhoffer Factory that produced railway carriages and rolling stock employed 30.000 but the factory relocated to Zlicin in the 1990's ,if you walk down Plzenska in the Smichov district there's a monument of a set of carriage buffers that's the only reminder of the factory, the district nowadays is rejuvenated, its reinvented itself, big modern shopping centres, lots of hotels and an amazing amount of pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants, its just a vibrant district of this amazing city on the West Bank of the Vltava River, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Prague.

Went at night, a quiet and beautiful place. Safe area as well. Has some breweries inside where we had a cheap dinner of schnitzel and some beer. Filling.

Pretty buildings all around, like the Bohemian Eagle house and the statue of Il Commendatore around the corner. There is also an entrance here to the Myslbek shopping centre.

There are several really beautiful square's in the magnificent Old Town of Prague with Staromestske Namesti ( Old Town Square ) being the most famous but square's such as Jan Palach Square are just as interesting.
Home to the stunning Rudolfinum ,a truly beautiful building, there's a statue in honour of Josef Manes and a great monument known as House Of The Suicide And House Of The Mother Of Suicide that's named in honour of Jan Palach the student who in 1969 in an act of protest against Soviet occupation of his country sacrificed his life in an act of self immolation ,its also an oasis of calm with beautiful and well kept grounds ,being close to the Vltava River adds to the joy of visiting this square, if you're in the Old Town of Prague its a square to most definitely check out.
