A short walk abt.20 mins around the River from Charles Bridge,,you arrive at the old town. The old town square is very picturesque,,and the old Clock is amazing. definately worth a visit. The Souvenir shops towards the metro station nearby are a little cheaper than the ones directly at the Bridge or inthe square.

Lobkowicz Palace is a wonderful and historic building in the stunning Prague Castle complex, its the only privately owned building in Prague Castle and is home to the famous Lobkowicz Museum.
Constructed in the late 16th century by the Czech nobleman Jaroslav Of Perstejn, its a great building to explore, most distinctive feature of this palace building is the beautiful stone tower ,all in all its a great place to check out if you're in Prague Castle.

One of the quieter areas of Prague. Easily accessible from the Metro - about 10 minutes walk. The citadel itself and its grounds are interesting with good views over Prague and the Vltava. Worth paying to see inside the Basilica and the National Cemetery is atmospheric.

Wonderful building, especially the library. Great tour guide (George) who explained things clearly in English, and who was ready to answer questions. Breath-taking view although struggled with the steep step. Do not go if you have impaired mobility. No toilets available.

A lovely tower, but it is currently being restored and covered by scaffolding and netting, which makes the exterior unviewable.
You can still go up the tower (tickets can be purchased onsite).

In Prague, the main Concert House is called the Rudolfinum and inside is the famous and quite ornate Dvořák Hall.
It was completed in 1896 and has hosted many of the prodigious concerts from around the world. I was fortunate to attend eight concerts in the Rudolfinum during this year’s celebrated: “Prague Spring Music Festival” between May 12th and June 4th, 2024.
The Dvořák Hall has extraordinarily high ceilings which give the hall outstanding acoustics. It has a magnificent chandelier in the center and the stage is dominated by an enormous organ.
All the above add up to an exceptional evening of great music.
I do look forward in returning to Prague for next year’s music festival.

Pilgrimage site located in the Castle District of Prague (Hradcany). The facade features beautiful baroque architecture, and the clock tower is known for its carillon that plays regularly throughout the day. Inside it is very peaceful and there is a chapel and a museum in the cloisters. However, the reason this is a pilgrim site is the presence of the biggest and most famous copy of Santa Casa. The Sata Casa is the place in Nazareth where the Archangel Gabriel announced to the Virgin Mary that she would give birth to Jesus. It is also where the Holy Family stayed after their return from Egypt and Mary lived there years afterward. It is said that angels miraculously brought the Santa Casa to the small town of Loreto in Italy in 1295. It was actually an Italian family named "Angeli" who arranged to move the house piece by piece to Italy. I'm not sure what the allure of seeing a copy of this holy site is but if you're into that sort of thing then this would be a special place to visit. However, I would suggest Loreto Praha should be on your B list of things to experience while in Prague, but certainly worth seeing if you are near the Castle District and you have extra time. It costs 210 CZK to enter but an extra 100 CZK if you want to take photos of the Santa Casa. Tram 22 from Mala Strana or even from New Town near Wenceslas Square is an excellent way to get up to the Castle District.

This cemetery is worth a visit, it was pretty quiet which was nice, and shady which is good in the heat. I wish there was some signage with more information though

On the first evening of our stay in Prague we went to this restaurant, just opposite the National Theatre, therefore almost on the bank of the Vltava.
The restaurant has modern but not too modern decor, recalling the atmosphere of the 1970s.
As for dinner, the package included pea cream with a splash of sour cream, roast with side dishes, and a 400 ml mug of beer (Budweiser).
Overall our meal was satisfactory, as was the service.

Residence of kings and emperors. Combination of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, much of what is seen dates back to the 14th century when constructed by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles !V. Vladislav Hall is impressive with the high vaulted ceilings, and the history of the building is significant, but there isn't really a lot to see inside. Supposedly the crown jewels are on display inside, but they must have been hidden away when we visited as we didn't see them. There is also a great view of the gardens and city from the rear terrace, but this was disappointingly closed when we visited. A visit to the Old Royal Palace is included in a combo ticket good for 2 days and allowing one entrance to each of the main sights at Prague Castle. It's worth a quick look inside since it is part of this combo ticket, otherwise it would not be worth it if there was a separate price for admission. Probably the first thing I would skip at the castle if short on time.

Visited here as part of our tour (self guided) of the Prague Castle complex. Unassuming facade outside, small but beautiful inside.

Beautiful church located at Krizovnicke Square after crossing over the Charles Bridge into Old Town. The sight of this church and the Church of St Salvator also at the square makes for a stunning scene especially when illuminated at night. St Francis of Assisi Church was built in 1688 and features beautiful baroque architecture. It is famous for its organ concerts.

Very small theatre room and the chairs were a bit uncomfortable. The show was cheesy in the extreme and half the audience left at the intermission. Not sure if they thought the show was over or they just didn't enjoy it.
We particulaly enjoyed the magician and horse.

The views from the top of New Town Hall are excellent. There is no elevator but the nearly 300 step climb is worth the effort. Construction on this tower began in 1348! Not crowded which makes it a nice break from the Old Town area!
