Wow, we visited this place on a Thursday night, wandered in and got a table for two in the middle of a dim cellar under the sreets of Prague, beer and a Prosecco at a reasonable price and listened to a quartet play a mind blowing jazz set. What is clear is that the musicians are 100% committed to their music, every single one was fantastic. Pianist, energetic and creative, drums, immersive and powerful, lead, technically brilliant yet emotional and five string bass, the glue that kept the performance together, the bass is usually the least impressive part of the quartet yet he delivered in spades. The audience was appreciative and impressed, I was blown away with this traditional performance, could have been a cellar in the 50s in some European underground jazz venue. We choose to go for Giants of Saxophone tribute night. We had a fantastic time listening to outstanding renditions by a very talented local quartet. It's open 8pm to midnight and we just managed to get a table without a reservation to check out the concert on the night. Great music, great no-nonsense martinis, a beautiful venue and lots of interesting people of all ages to chat to. They also offer free posters if you'd like a memento. Huge poster of Tindersticks on tour in front of the toilets - I mean what else can you ask for. Their bartenders know what they are doing and are using high quality alcohol. Only thing is that there was a sign saying no smoking but someone was smoking and I asked a waitress to ask him to stop and she said he is the owner haha - coming from Scotland, it's illegal to smoke inside a public place so maybe just me being bias.
