Brighter building facing the square and church. Looks like a classic old town house from a few hundred years ago but stand out

We visited all the 3 tours currently offered to see the Santini’s masterpiece, The most important rebuilding took place in the Baroque period by architect was Jan Blažej Santini Aichel. You to the meditation chapel of St. Bernard, the Capitular Hall, and visit the hospital wing, where you can see toilets with the direct flushing to a canal of the Střela River. During the tour you can admire nice Baroque frescoes. The every hour guided tour is in the Czech language but the texts in English or German available Convent fee for adult 160.- CZK. But we started the tour in Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary with a small tour before the mass which starts at 11:00 on Sunday with the entrance otherwise the tours stats every quarter of an hour from the ticket office in the convent (100,- CZK) no online tickets, just direct purchase. You can see nice baroque altars, pulpit, confessional, organ and paintings by painters Karel Škréta, Petr Brandl and others. Again the guided tour in the Czech language with the texts in English or German.

The real highlight was as was the water system tour, which is exclusive tour for which you have to buy the ticket online but only for scare terms and limited number of visitors (up to 15) although the tour can be ordered for groups with a minimum number of 10 people. During the tour you will see the result sophistication of Baroque engineering. As the grounds are on very unstable marshy subsoil. the building was built upon 5,100 oak piles to which were surrounded with water to preserve this wood in its foundations and the stable water level must be maintained. You will also learn about an air system which helps to reduce humidity and heat the building. During the tour you can pass through some of the underground air corridors where you have to be equipped with a helmet, take a torch. Be prepared fort confined spaces and possible anxiety. You can see a little bit from this tour while visiting the Convent tour.

Parking available just near the entrance, you can also walk around the city or visit Chancellor Metternich's tomb. You can easily spend all day here. I recommend to visit another nearby Baroque masterpiece work from Santini Matianska Tynice which used to be connected to Plasy monastery (10 KM away, or 5 KM on the bike).

The House at the Golden Sun is a Baroque house on the corner of Prešovská and Sedláčkova Street. The original Gothic house was rebuilt in Baroque style in 1777 probably by Pilsen builder Antonín Barth.

Number 13 Exhibition Hall house was originally a Gothic building but was rebuilt in a Renaissance style before 1607. The earliest history of the building is represented by its cellar and a rare Gothic ceiling on the ground floor, decorated with a floral design. This house served as a shop during the 20th century. In 1989, a reconstruction of the building started to turn it into a gallery. Some unique features were preserved especially the late Gothic timber ceiling with its decorative paintings on the ground floor, the sundial on the frontage of the building, the Gothic jambs, and the Renaissance portal. Today there is a gallery here.

The tour starts with a visit to the remaining Vogl apartment, where you can see the living room and dining room. During the tour, you’ll get to sit in exact replicas of the original furniture and hear the stories of the select Pilsen families for whom Adolf Loos designed a series of deluxe interiors on and around Klatovská Street. You’ll then take a short 8-minute walk to Bendova Street to the Kraus apartment. Here you’ll have the opportunity to compare the different methods of renovating a historical interior, which boasts a magical space with the lounge and dining room in the never-ending reflections of two opposite mirror walls. You’ll also visit the former washroom, Mr Kraus’ study, the comfortably furnished bedroom with built-in furniture, and last but not least, the housekeeper’s room. The part of the apartment that sadly wasn’t preserved in its original appearance is used today to hold lectures and cultural events, to which you’re also cordially invited.
