- paolovbossiThe Hague, The Netherlands849 contributionsJust after the castle there are the gardens. Even if they are not particularly big, they are really nice and well maintained. It is a nice place for a stroll or for relaxing out of the main crowd of Cesky Krumlov.Written August 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vilma Ruste1 contributionI haven't heard of Cesky Krumlov and didn't google it so we went to the place, being part of our tour itinerary, not expecting much. But as soon as we started the short trek to the village, i was surprised by the beauty that unfolded before my eyes! A fairy land! Every nook and cranny of Cesky Krumlov is a sight to behold! Everything spelled beauty!
Too bad we only had an hour or so to explore the town, we didn't get the chance to see the inside of the castle and the other point of interest like the Cloak Bridge, Museum, etc. We left Chesky Krumlov with a smile and a fond memory of the place.❤️Written November 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FLnurseERBoca Raton, FL5,621 contributionsI have learned about this local gem from my niece, who loves to cook with herbs. Although the garden is open only on the weekend now, the very kind owner, who saw us reading the entrance info, let us in. The organization and identification of plants and herbs is amazing, we learned which ones are good for digestive, respiratory, cardiac, beauty...... health, the garden is full of positive energy and provides a space for relaxation and mental respite. There were also fruit trees ladden with fruit, and hot houses full of ripening tomatoes. Yoga classes info can be obtained from the web site. I wished there was a tea shop, where one could obtain a special mix of these herbs, or even enjoy a cup of freshly brewed herb tea, but we were told the city of Cesky Krumlov does not support such a venture. What a pity, it would be a wonderful place for tourists, that love to enjoy the local experience and flavor.Written September 24, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FLnurseERBoca Raton, FL5,621 contributionsThis very visible baroque chapel surrounded by a covered ambit of alcoves stands high up above Cesky Krumlov on a hill called Krizova hora. It not only offers a beautiful view of the city and its castle, but is a wonderful place of tranquility and peace. The inner perimeter displays historical photographs with explanations in Czech language only, there are small tables with chairs inviting weary traveler to rest tired feet and leaf through several brochures. The small inner chapel has some paintings and an interesting mosaic. We spend quite a while speaking to a kind and caring elderly gentleman, Ing. Dalibor Uhlir, who with the help of Mrs. Vera Petrovicova, singlehandedly take care of the upkeep and program of this amazing place with no support of the city. They rely on donations only, which we gladly contributed.Written September 22, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
