One of the best zoo's that I have visited. The grounds are huge and you need a full day to explore everything. Lots of animals kept indoors during the colder months but they all had plenty of space. Food on site is also very good and there is lockable storage for luggage for 20kr (deposit).

The cable cars were out of action but looked like they would be great when working.

Highly recommend if you have a spare day during your trip to Prague!

Our tour guide, after a longer morning touring around the Prague Castle, took us off to the side to the Wallenstein Palace Gardens so that we could sit, relax and enjoy the surroundings. It was the perfect place to rechange our batteries…and based upon the number of locals enjoying their lunches there, obviously an exceptionally popular spot with the locals. The gardens were beautiful with wonderful water features and carved walls (to look like random carvings, but actually contain hidden images). And the gardens were exceptionally well maintained.

Karlovy Vary is a spa town in North Checzia with amazing architecture , thermal springs and situated in a forest with terrific walking and cycling trails.
There are several viewing towers on the upper slopes around the area with great views.

From here you can enjoy a stunning view over Prague, I suggest to come a bit before the sunset and drink a few beers.
    Nice place, really suggested.

Lovely and calm place. In high season it’s better to come later than sooner. We’ve step in at 6 pm and we were nearly alone there. Exactly how I live it. During the day is more like a walk in the city. And without a e-ticket bought in advance you won’t get in, it’s really full as a parking place.

We went a few minute before they opened and were the only ones there. We had the garden all to ourselves for about 30 minutes. My only complaint is that they had the gardener trimming the bushes during our visit. Couldn’t they have done this maintenance before 10AM? Who wants to be in a beautiful garden with the sound of hedge trimmers and leaf blowers? Poor management, hence the 4 star review. Avoid a hot day here… you will not enjoy it. This place can be hard to find as it is not at the edge of the street. You need to go through a garage arch until you see the entrance to it. The garden is not visible from the street.

We visited during poor weather in November, and found it a bit hard to access from the tram stop, but it was worth the effort. We have seen a cheetah, snow leopard, Amur leopard, and a pack of lions - with a sweet lion cub :) the zoo is also combined with a botanical garden, so it must be really lovely in the spring and summer.

    Accurate as of April 2022.

I decided to write this review as it was quite difficult to find information online about visiting the Moravian karst from Brno by public transport, and it was well worth the visit!!!

The famous Punkva cave and Katerina cave are in the same area and you can visit both on the same day.

    - take train/bus from Brno main station to Blankso (approx 30 mins, cost 34 CZK single). These are relatively frequent
    - take bus 226 from Blankso bus station to Skalni Mlyn (approx 10 mins, cost 10 CZK single). NB this is the limiting step as although it is a short bus journey, they do not run often
    - when you arrive at Skalni Mlyn, the walk to Punkva entrance is 30-40 mins (or you can pay for a transporter). NB during summer months, you should book online tickets months in advance. This tour lasts 1 hour and includes a boat ride at the end. The walk to Katerina entrance is 10 mins. This tour lasts 40 mins.
    I would definitely recommend both.

    Hope that helps!

The walking is easy, although it might be more difficult with a stroller. If you do not have a lot of time there is a car park near the falls. It is even possible to go on a tourist 'train'.

    This was a great trip.
    This is sooo beautiful.

I walked to the hill, but there is the ropeway for people who don't want to walk.

    Peaceful place, nice to walk.
Garden is huge with wide range of plants.
In the garden area also located a Fata morgana greenhouse in 3 climatic sections, with colorful plants from Australia, Mexico & Africa.
    I recommend it.

Wonderful and relaxing park. The park covers several hectares and includes a lake, and grassy areas. Great places for sunbathing and taking in the view.

This is apparently where it all starts as you begin the journey to taste and feel the healing of the thermal springs. I am not sure about all of that, but I did drink out of the dozen or so hot springs I could find. Some must have been hidden and two (#14 and #16) are just outside of town. However, this is the first one and is situated across form the Church of Mary Magdalene. I understand that several of the hotels have water lines connected to this one. I know the Carlsbad Plaza Hotel does. At the end of the day whether or not this whole concept of healing waters is a gimmick is unknown to me. I will say that a visit to Karlovy Vary is an absolute must. The springs, the food, the spas, and more importantly, the people are wonderful.
