We picked up Paulina who spoke excellent English and was a very valuable addition to our park experience (as well as an excellent photographer for couples photos!).
It was a wonderful way to see the countryside around Quito along with seeing the wild horses who live at the base of the volcano.. Cotopaxi is magnificent.

It may have to do with the fact that you have to hike through the Amazon to get there and then you find yourself in a clearing with an amazing view.
Nice hike down to the "mirador" and awesome view from there.

You will need to pay the entrance (less than US$4 for foreigners) and you should hire a native local guide to hike within the wild rainforest.
It is run by the local Kichwa community and they also serve local - chicken or Tilapia Miato (both cooked inside a large leaf) - about 4-5$ and cold cerveza.
