Great visit entering deep into the earth. Guided tour in Spanish. Boots and helmet provided. The visit starts with a video (English Subtitles)

Tanya's passionate mission is contagious. Our tour group enjoyed a hands on experience of making chocolate from raw cocoa beans. She then created a four course meal in front of us on her patio. Using only ingredients and produce grown on her farm. She made our tour so informative and fun. Please add Happy Fruit Agroecological Farm to your itinerary.
    Thank you Tanya

The colonial architecture is typical; I was there for the week-end and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed; great place to sit at a terrasse and enjoy the surrounding

I traveled with my family to Machala, a coastal city in Ecuador. It is an excessively hot place. On the other hand, the people there are very friendly and polite, we met very nice people during the stay. As for the food, we could never get used to the taste of the food, it was not very pleasant, although their roasts were delicious. Machala is not an expensive city but its citizens said that it was cheaper to buy before the currency changed to the dollar.

This tour is an amazing opportunity to talk with banana farmers and workers and to learn about how all those bananas on our supermarket shelves are grown. The El Guabo banana farmers association has a long (and very interesting history) of helping farmers sell their bananas as organic and Fair Trade, which you can learn about on the tour. It's also a great opportunity to check out a part of Ecuador that is off the beaten path of most tourists. Not to be missed!

The Sanctuary of the Virgen del Carmen is located in the historic center of Zaruma, is a very beautiful church that is characterized by wooden balconies and eaves.
It has a large wooden altar carved and covered with gold and silver. The festivities in honor of the Virgin are made from 12 to 20 July, the date on which it is used to beautify the church more.
Tourists take the opportunity to visit the Municipal Museum of Zaruma, the central park and enjoy the tasty coffee Zaruma
