The second part of the excursion was a delicious lunch on a house boat floating in the middle of the jungle (so cool!) and then there was a choice between kayaking through the jungle to a waterfall or fishing.
I was lucky enough to go with a privately-hired guide who was extremely good at spotting the monkeys as well as a whole host of other wildlife (birds, lizards, sloths!) Really great time cruising the lake from isl...

I would most definitely recommend this for anyone who plans to visit Panama, loves sloths, bird watching, or just wants to find something super cool to go do for a few hours during the day that involves nature.
I did the Rainforest tour package, which included the Tram ride, the Sloth sanctuary and the boat ride to see the monkey islands.

Our Overseas Adventure Travel group were loaded into long, narrow canoes that were outfitted with a small outboard motor and were expertly guided down the rocky and sometimes swift Chagres River.
While visiting any of those settlements, one will travel over the Chagres river in a motorized canoe boat which is a unique experience in itself.
