The shop was opened by Robert Schott, a Melburnian and umbrella maker in 1907. It was operated by successive generations of the family until 1978 when the last descendant passed away. Closed for a short period and then taken over by the National Trust and renamed The Old Umbrella Shop. Two lovely lady volunteers in attendance and happily recounted the history of the shop for us. We liked the museum room with the umbrella collection and other memorabilia. Great range of souvenirs and gifts, and, umbrellas.

Want some old fashioned boiled lollies or chocolates? You'll find them in this cute, old fashioned lollie shop right in the heart of Launceston. Worth a visit.

Loved visiting this amazing gallery. I spoke with both Anne and Peter about their awesome glass pieces and the move to the new premises right on the Tamar River. Housed in an industrial warehouse, the contrast between this and the magnificent glass pieces is wonderful.
The tubs of flowers at the entrance and the banners flying at the door and the large glass windows showcasing the glass pieces is beautiful and so inviting to come in and have a look.
This is a must on any visit to Launceston and Tasmania.

Visited on takeover day at the shop and the day new stock was opened, and .... they let me fossick in the boxes. Lots of unique and pretty items. Yes we made a contribution to the local economy 😀.

And ..... if you want to have your hair done 3 senior stylists started in the newly opened Salon.

A great venture - good luck ladies.

This shop has a beautiful range of items perfect for gifts. I was particularly impressed with the range of tea. The shop assistant was most helpful and wrapped my purchases beautifully.

I have been following Shopfront Trevallyn on Facebook and finally got to visit this fabulous shop whilst I was visiting Launceston (I live in Hobart)
    Wow what an amazing shop!!!
So many beautiful things to buy. Came away with some really lovely purchases.
I love visiting shops like this because you never know what you will find.
Will definitely be visiting again when I’m next in Launceston.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Keep up the good work.
Hard to find a shop like this with so much variety under the one roof!!!

In 25 years I hadn't trusted anyone with the repair of my treasured 1847 Priess clock until I by chance walked past Graham's shop. 2 months later I was speechless when he showed me the result, magnificently restored with manufactured parts to replace the damaged and missing ones. 5 years on and it is keeping perfect time. The restoration was actually cheaper than the quote.

My partner and I spent some time in Launceston over the New Year period, and at one point wandering around town we stumbled across Seagrass Design. We're both in arts fields, so we'd spent a lot of time in the city focussing on catching as much of this side of Launceston as possible (Design Tasmania and QVMAG were highlights), but it was all the better to find a local art and design store completely by accident. We spent a good while in there browsing through the miscellany of handmade items, ranging from scented candles, to Huon pine cheeseboards, handthrown pottery, to a fabulous range of menswear and womenswear featuring Jamie's own designs. My partner bought me a stunning A-line dress (with pockets!) and I can't wait to show it off. Be sure to drop into Seagrass Designs when you have a chance!

My teen daughter and I drove to Lilydale for lunch before our pre-booked Hollybanks Treetops Adventure at nearby Underwood (about 10 minutes away). It was a great decision as we found this lovely store full of collectables, antiques and gifts. The prices were very good and the lady at the counter was so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend a detour to Lilydale and a visit to Eclectica Etc. My family will definitely be visiting again next time we are in Tasmania.

Taste of Tasmania's handmade chocolates and factories. Located at 147 Paterson Street, the Gourlays Chocolate factory is the perfect place to visit after hiking/walking through the Caratact Gorge.

Follow the breadcrumbs which will lead to the Chocolate factory, PUN intended.

I believe in this store so whole heartedly! The owners have worked incredibly hard to bring this showcase of amazing handmade products from all around the country because they know there are others that share their desire to buy locally (even if local includes the northern island).

They've made a point of catering for all budgets so you're certain to find a gift for someone special or a sneaky treat for yourself. If you love hand made things and you want to support your fellow Australians don't hesitate to give Den a visit! You won't be disappointed!

The Waverley Woollen Shop is now located in Launceston city - in George Street and it is well worth a visit. Apart from your regular blankets that you expect there are also quality scarves, picnic rugs, etc. And if you are very lucky you may even pick up some wonderful 'seconds' from the factory - which I have managed to do on most visits. The only problem is that as their products are such good quality they never wear out!!! But you do need to buy for friends and also update with latest fashions in throw rugs!

Made a special trip here only to find the shop has been closed down.
Disappointing as the photos looked great.
Thought I'd post to let others know, happy to be corrected if I'm wrong or if they've relocated.
