Thoroughly recommend this activity, my husband and I loved our bike ride from Lake Hawea to Wanaka, fantastic experience and we were lucky enough to have brilliant weather.
From the pick up in Wanaka to drop off at Hawea Lake; to the beautiful trail he put us on winding our way back to Wanaka along two incredibly pristine rivers and along the shore of Lake Wanaka.

I stopped in to buy a trail map, and Mike helped me plan an awesome day that included a few gondola runs, and a ride up to Salmon Run, a Grade 6 trail frequented mainly by local riders.
We used Vertigo bikes twice while in Queenstown, the first time they pointed us out on a ride around Moke lake which was a great day out, stunning views and the bikes where perfect.

We absolutely recommend this as it provides a great way to see some of the great bays of the island in quick time, while getting some fresh air and exercise.
They are great fun to use, having that bit of power to help you up the hilly roads (and there are plenty of hilly roads, believe me) is great.

The organisational side of things was wonderfully easy thanks to the personalised and detailed work of the Big Sky team who arranged our itinerary, bike hire, accommodation and luggage/car relocation.
We would like to thank Jacquie and the team for all of the thought and detail that went into our itinerary for our cycle ride from Clyde to Middlemarch, after which we travelled on the Taieri Gorge train to Dunedin.

Five over-60 men from Wellington enjoyed a four-day self-guided ride on the Great Taste Trail, riding from Nelson via Richmond & Wakefield, to Kaiteriteri (via Spooners Tunnel), Mapua and back to Nelson.
We had a fantastic time - the cycling was fun and challenging, the accommodation good quality, and the logistics worked very smoothly (pick-ups, luggage transportation, etc).

During the trip, our guide, Richard, was extremely personable, interesting, helpful, and knowledgeable about the local flora, fauna, and history.

Minibus from Queenstown to Lake Manapouri, boat trip along the lake, amazing coach trip across the pass, 3 hour boat trip on Doubtful Sound, then coach, boat and minibus return trip to Queenstown.
We then had an almost 3 hour cruise out to the Tasman Sea and back with good commentary, free tea/coffee/hot chocolate which was at times very welcome and delicious this was on constant tap throughout the cruise.

Bicycling to the wineries was MUCH BETTER than riding around in stuffy vans; the fresh breeze and relatively easy rides really helped us feel refreshed at each winery and made the whole experience more enjoyable.
The bike distance between vineyards was just right, each vineyard had a point of difference, and enjoyed a half way point stop at a quaint tavern to break up all the wine.
