A special place whenever we visit New Plymouth. Easily accessed from the city where we were staying, a nice wide flat path and easy walking. Very nice views up and down the coast and out to sea.
It's great to see it being so well used and I think a real asset to the community.

Magnificently maintained grounds and gardens, so many options and tracks to follow; quite a lot of info available, including historical info and relevant from around the world, though a few more individual tree/plant IDs would be good

What a fantastic space. Really interesting and enjoyable. Great for all and kids will enjoy it too. And free to boot! It really is an asset to the local community.

Captivating walk thru of an exceptionally preserved Arts and Crafts home and garden. Itโ€™s Beatrix Potter-ville and utterly adorable. The tour by Cliff the guide was informational and clearly he is fond of the Russells and what they achieved. Not just with Tลซpare, but also Pukeiti gardens at the foot of Taranaki Maunga. Perfect to-do on a rainy day, even better in the sun.

Totally recommend running down the sand dune to the beach. It is quite steep and the sand was hot so don't stop.

We cycled over this on the coastal walkway. It's quite something, views through it to the snow capped mountains and the sea on the other side. It feels / looks like you're passing through a whale skeleton. Most impressive

Interesting and unusual place. The mind of an artist is interesting. My teen son reckoned he hated it because I was โ€œmucking around too muchโ€ but he seemed to pay alot of attention to the exhibits that moved.

Amazing work by volunteers has created a beautiful garden with an array of flowering shrubs, established trees annuals and wildflowers.
The cemetery is more like a botanical garden and would rival any that the regions have on offer.

Stunning wildlife reserve with fabulous lake views. We'll worth the trip out of town. Unfortunately a cloudy day so we didn't see the mountain but still worth it.

This is a shared cycle/walkway. We have both walked and cycled it many times from Bell Block to the Ports.
It's just fantastic the changing views of the sea and farmland, bridges, swimming pool etc.
When cycling you have to be really careful as people walking with headphones on don't hear you ringing your bike bell and others just seem to be watching cloud formations and just seem to wander in front of you.
Would be great if everyone could walk/cycle to the left.

This trail branches off the coastal trail and follows a creek. You forget that you are in a city. A good place to get some exercise.

It's always interesting to visit local places of worship and this solid central cathedral / church is worth seeing. We spent a time of reflection before continuing our walk up to Marsland Hill
