- Simon DAuckland, New Zealand720 contributionsA special place whenever we visit New Plymouth. Easily accessed from the city where we were staying, a nice wide flat path and easy walking. Very nice views up and down the coast and out to sea.
It's great to see it being so well used and I think a real asset to the community.Written March 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SonamoraParaparaumu, New Zealand30 contributionsCaptivating walk thru of an exceptionally preserved Arts and Crafts home and garden. Itโs Beatrix Potter-ville and utterly adorable. The tour by Cliff the guide was informational and clearly he is fond of the Russells and what they achieved. Not just with Tลซpare, but also Pukeiti gardens at the foot of Taranaki Maunga. Perfect to-do on a rainy day, even better in the sun.Written January 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BretWellington, New Zealand2 contributionsTotally recommend running down the sand dune to the beach. It is quite steep and the sand was hot so don't stop.Written January 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah CAshtead, UK1,290 contributionsWe cycled over this on the coastal walkway. It's quite something, views through it to the snow capped mountains and the sea on the other side. It feels / looks like you're passing through a whale skeleton. Most impressiveWritten February 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - littlebigbearTauranga, New Zealand89 contributionsInteresting and unusual place. The mind of an artist is interesting. My teen son reckoned he hated it because I was โmucking around too muchโ but he seemed to pay alot of attention to the exhibits that moved.Written January 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pammie3 contributionsAmazing work by volunteers has created a beautiful garden with an array of flowering shrubs, established trees annuals and wildflowers.
The cemetery is more like a botanical garden and would rival any that the regions have on offer.Written March 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately a cloudy day so we didn't see the mountain but still worth it.Written November 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JoeJurcich4 contributionsFairly easy mount to climb bit beware of loose rocks etc.. great view from the top.
Took about 15 mins to the top and 20 mins down.Written February 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's just fantastic the changing views of the sea and farmland, bridges, swimming pool etc.
When cycling you have to be really careful as people walking with headphones on don't hear you ringing your bike bell and others just seem to be watching cloud formations and just seem to wander in front of you.
Would be great if everyone could walk/cycle to the left.Written March 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A good place to get some exercise.Written July 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sarah CAshtead, UK1,290 contributionsIt's always interesting to visit local places of worship and this solid central cathedral / church is worth seeing.
