Catch the Airport Express Bus on the ground level of the Sky Tower for only $17. You can purchase your ticket online or pay the driver with a credit card.

Interesting to walk along and near the wharf and water. So busy even with nothing in particular happening. Great food available.

Good views across Auckland. Although you can walk to the top, it is safer by car. Good place to visit as part of a trip to Cornwall Park.

We parked at the upper car park then headed towards the South Battery. There is a map of the hill and you can go in any direction. As one local out walking his dog said ‘you can’t get lost’! The path is mowed grass and follows the hill around in a circle. Lots of stops at old war installations, beautiful views of Devonport, Mt Victoria and the Auckland skyline. I was surprised we spent 2 hours here! Such a nice break from the city.

Auckland is a souvenir shopper's delight (which is me!).
Queen St does have some good gift shops but also a mix of high end boutiques, banks, travel agents etc. You will find excellent souvenir shopping opportunities equally on Albert St that runs parallel, around the Sky Tower at SkyCity area and, in particular, down at the ferry terminal quayside (also great restaurants down there).
All within a walkable distance for a lovely few hours of retail therapy.
Note :- the Sky Tower has one of the best gift shops and you may well be able to access it without buying a viewing ticket? If not, it's still a good place to go.
The possum & merino mix wool products are especially good quality in NZ shops and a fair price.

A visit to Parnell Village will surprise you to know it was once a Bohemian paradise. Today it is gentrified and known for its wonderful restaurants, charming cafes, and expensive shops. Parnell was established as New Zealand’s first suburb in 1841. It is filled with many ivy-covered buildings and narrow brick lanes. Worth taking the time to explore this delightful village.

Had this on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. Would highly recommend to anyone with kids or not to visit this if you have the opportunity. Good walking shoes, water and layer clothing would be a good idea. Loved it!

This little lane off Queen Street is full of nice places to eat and a good bar. It is a pedestrian street. Lots of places to sit outside and enjoy the weather while you eat or drink from the many options. Head here for lunch or a preshow drink.

Alberton is in the suburb of Mt Albert in Auckland. Very interesting visit. A talk by one of the guides when we arrived explaining about the house and family was very interesting.
Plenty to see. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see the garden as it rained heavily.

Lots of bars and restaurants as you walk along, and with outdoor seating also. Sadly there are also lots of vacant shops... Neat place to wander and do a bit of people watching.

Situated near to Auckland and well worth a visit- interesting to hear others customs and to see all the treasures. Food was very tasty- not used to vegetarian but I loved it all.

This is a great place to take the dog for a walk, or to show visitors the magnificent views out over the Gulf. The council promised to start repairs on the stairway down to the beach in February and have it finished by today. The reality is they have yet to even start! So much for the Auckland Super City...…...

Takutai Square is in the Britomart area of the city, it is a unique urban space which is used for many events including open air cinema screenings and music events. When we visited the square it was busy as it was Waitangi Day so there were many people enjoying the sunny spells and relaxing in the square.
