Good food and drink. Overrun with Romulans. Would have liked to see more authentic Vulcan foods like Gespar fruit and big bowls of Plomeek Soup.

I hadn't visited this for a number of years, so when I went last weekend, it came as a surprise to me as to how much this market had grown. I guess with the demise of La Cigale, a number of vendors probably would have moved here.

There is a wide selection of vendors, so there should be something for everyone. I stopped by someone selling mushrooms, there were bakers, grocers, Napolitan pizza, to name a few. The range seem to be more than just "Farmers", which is a good thing. I wish I had more time to explore.

Now for the down sides. It was crowded, and whilst there were plenty of parking spaces nearby, it was hard to find a park. Did I mention, it was crowded? Expect to queue for the more popular vendors. Also, a number of vendors only accepted cash or bank transfer. I think it is not unreasonable to expect vendors to accept credit cards or at a minimum EFTPOS.

Convenient shopping for home and farm, everything under one roof, reasonably priced, but sometimes the desired brand or make not be available.

Catalina Bay Farmers Market, finefood-market at Hobsonville Point; lovely waterfront views. Olive oils, Butchery, Nut-butters, cheese, copper perfumery-kits, and more; great atmosphere. Bakery out-the-door queues, decadent patisserie, got some - finished in a jiffy, got another few delish items before we left. (I have gait/walking challenges (stroke), wear a legbrace.) - challenging flights of steps if you park at top-level carpark or drive-down, gourmet (indoor/outdoor) market though quite small, must try cafes surrounding it for next time, ferry-pier (service to/from Auckland Cbd). Went on the weekend, great find; I believe they are open more days.

Dined at CanTing. Lovely view over the harbour. Delicious crispy duck wonton, beef fillet, kung pao chicken, pork bao, and the best spring onion pancakes. Save room for a pineapple bun. Only negative; coffee served in a huge thick clunky mug.

This place is heavily oriented towards the asian market and the style and presentation didn't lend itself towards my taste. One notable point though, there were three male staff members, in different stores within the Galleria, and each of them went out of their way to say hello which I thought was very nice.

Located opposite Aotea Square this wee food court is a perfect stop if you have a show to go to nearby at either the comedy club or Kirk Te Kanawa centre.
The unassuming street front means that it isn’t always packed.
The food court is located at the back, plenty of international choices to choose from.

This is the second time I have gone to have dinner before a show, better than the hustle and bustle of the other eateries nearby.

Toilets are clean and tidy (door code required from any of the shops)
Food court kept clean with staff clearing and wiping down as soon as you leave.

Next time you are going to an evening show I high recommend you check this place out for the convenience, we arrived at 5:30pm for a 7pm show on a Saturday , we had plenty of time to dine and desert before strolling across the road for the show.

We learned that there are different locations for the night markets - some take place in the underground space of a parking structure, others outdoors. What you get is a huge assortment of street food of all types, much of it quite appealing. And, of course, some local artisans and their craft works - go online when you get to Auckland and google "Auckland Night Markets" for current locations and hours.

The mall isn't huge but it is fairly big. Multiple levels of shops including the Warehouse on the top floor at one end and the Cinemas near the other. They also have multiple entrances including ones on Great North Road.
They do have a food court with a variety of different foods.
The mall is quite nice and clean and not too difficult to get around. Large selection of shops including quite a few dollar stores (and a $2 or less store).

The Strand Arcade is an old style shopping center where it preserved the elegrance from the old days. Do take the kids there, it is like travelling back in time.

I visited Artspace NZ in Auckland recently thanks to 'New perspectives' openning exhibition. Nice venue with little library abd few exhibition rooms. The place was full of people because of good timing (Friday night) and good catering (a lot of white wine). As several visitors pointed out: they're interested in social life more than contemporary art... Obviously, the organizers took it into consideration :)
