Great experience and terrific views. Gives a great perspective of Auckland. Good spot to catch a coffee or snack from the coffee shop and enjoy the view.

We wanted to explore the history and artifacts that New Zealand had to offer. The Aukland Museum is an amazing place to spend hours of your valued time and the price is well worth it!

From here you get a great view of Auckland CBD. The possibility of standing at the edge of an inactive volcanos crater is a cool and a bit unreal experience, even if there are grass in them.

A good walk up from the parking lot but absolutely well worth it.

This is a great day out in Auckland especially for family/friend groups.
I would recommend buying your ferry tickets online to avoid the hassle of having to buy them prior to boarding or avoiding missing out (especially peak times like school holidays, weekends, summer) on the ferry time you want, although there are several times per day.
Excellent views at the top. Walk straight to the summit or do other walks around the volcano.
Summit walk is 1 hour to the top, we took less time coming back down.
Take food and water (no shops), only toilets available. Take a jacket or be prepared for the weather/season you go in.
Cell phone reception available. I am with Vodafone and it worked fine.
Cafe available on the ferry if needed.

Make sure to stay the night in the bunkhouse. Well run by DOC volunteers and such a special place in our backyard.

My third visit, the zoo continues to expand and develop, giving great spaces for the animals living there. Animals look happy and well cared for. Loved seeing the baby giraffe

Devonport is located on Auckland's North Shore. This seaside suburb is only 12 minutes from the Auckland CBD. It's well-known for its laid-back lifestyle, and the numerous harbourside bars and restaurants, Devonport was one of the first neighbourhoods settled in the Auckland area, and it's well-known for its heritage charm, Devonport is said to resemble the Californian city of Sausalito. Devonport is the main base for the Royal New Zealand Navy.

This hill is a must for First timers in Auckland. Being one of the highest point, this lookout offers 360 degree views of entire Auckland.

There are plenty of parking on the hill. The one nearest the peak is about 10 minutes walk.

The hill has beautiful park and trees all over. You can have a stroll, bring a picnic mat and sit under tree and enjoy a book or just merely relax and feel the nature. You can bring a bike or scooter as well.

Have a drinking bottle handy so you can relenosh your water on nearby drinking fountains too.

My husband and I went for a walk on a sunny day. The huge area allowed us to explore around in a loop and stopped by a cafe for an ice cream.

A great afternoon visit to Kelly Tarlton’s. We loved the penguins, turtles and sharks especially. The exhibits are well laid out and include heaps of interesting information. Cafe has some tasty items - I had a delicious blueberry muffin. Parking onsite. Staff are friendly.

Best thing we did in Auckland. Terrific and informative displays for all ages. Great displays and does a great job of covering NZ long and valuable sea going heritage.

Wonderfully maintained, clean, safe and attractive.

Toilets and parking available.

Lots of open space to explore, as well as the Gardens, the museum, the lake and the cafe.

Always a pleasure to return to walk around.

We were looking to fill an hour or so and drove here on a late August morning. Firstly we were surprised how mild winter is here in Auckland. The garden is mainly indoors, at least the flowers. We did also discover a fern garden outside on one side of the greenhouse. Very nice place for photos.

Visited this establishment twice. It occupies a premium location overlooking the Hauraki Gulf. The staff are very helpful and professional in looking after one's requirements. Our food was fresh and delicious and they make a very good coffee. We avoided sitting inside as the noise of patrons conversations were rather loud. Outside was ideal to get away from the din plus you got an uninterrupted sea view. Highly recommended.
