It was a great experience and my whole family loved it. I would say that this zoo should definitely be on your “must do in Sydney list” we were able to get real close to the animals and even get the chance to see baby koalas up close. On top of this a lot of the animals are rescue either because they are facing extinction or because they are injured. The zoo is pretty big but despite this fact it we didn’t have to do a lot walking which is great for family’s with smaller kids. Overall it was an amazing experience and I would definitely do it again.

Cheers erupt across the beach as I gracefully spring to snatch a spinning frisbee from the sky. Landing on all fours, I canter over towards a flurry of hands greeting me with pats all over. I turn onto my back, feet high, rolling in their praise.

    “Who’s a good boy? Who’s a good boy?”

    “Oow-ow-oow-ow.” I’m a good boy.

But no time to bask in their applause; a sniff of something special has caught my attention. It’s the scent of an elegant Afghan hound, a gleaming shampooed coat bounding along the shore. A trail of kicked up sand chases after her, as do I, tongue out, licking at the air.

Oh, but not so quickly, snarls a hostile pit bull, a raised upper lip revealing a set of slobbering fangs. You’ll have to get through me. A bulging muscular wall, the canine’s chest puffs out, neck stiff, tail rigid.

I bolt away but warm breath follows on my tail, a lunging jaw slicing the air behind me. Leaving the sea behind, prickly grass replaces the soft sand beneath our paws. Picnic rugs are turned over, the contents of baskets spilling outwards, people escaping in all directions.

Along a ledge and a dead-end approaches, a gap that opens over a storm water drain. Full speed, I dig my heels in and flip onto my side. The pit bull is not so quick. Soaring past me, a bed of oysters welcomes him below.

A long cry pierces the air, a whimper of defeat.

Trotting triumphantly back towards the shore, I find the Afghan hound awaiting. Together we splash along the water’s edge, playfully gnawing at each other’s faces, lost in the moment, in doggy heaven.

But before long, a familiar voice is dragging me back to earth.

“Marco! What in the world are you doing!”

I look up with puppy dog eyes.

“Running around with animals again!” the enraged voice continues. “You’re a grown man for Christ’s sake. Get up – I’m taking you home.”

“Oh, geez. Sorry, mum.” I stand up and make my way to the car, ashamed, tail between my legs.

The crumbling fortifications at Middle Head offer an insight into Sydney's 19th century military defences, as well as the fears of imminent invasion by European powers held by many Australians after Britain shipped home the last of its troops in 1870. Work here on the military buildings and gun pits started within a few years of that date. Some of the buildings including barracks and officers quarters are still standing, restored and repurposed. The area of the gun pits, including deep pits for 'disappearing guns', is now revealed amid a maze of tunnels and trenches, mostly uncovered. It is an enthralling place to explore. The grounds are extensive thought the area of the gun emplacements is fairly confined. Parts of this site have seriously deteriorated, so you may need to watch your step now and again. Wonderful panoramic views of Sydney Harbour to be had here too. Plus you won't have to share the experience with hordes of tourists.

The artist themselves was fantastic as I’m sure with all twilight at Taronga concerts, my reason for the 3 out of 5 was more for the zoo. Sadly, there was no forecasted rain, hwever, on the night it did. All other outdoor concerts and venues I’ve been to provided free ponchos to their patrons. Taronga Zoo did not and I feel for the money that you pay it was expected. And my other negative was the parking. Anyone that’s been to Taronga would know that there is a great ferry from the city, or you can park in their multilevel car park. Regular day visitors can spend $22 to park all day on site or catch the ferry. For the twilight sessions the ferry is not operational and therefore driving is the only convenient option. My disappointment lies in having to still pay $22 for a couple of hours in circumstances with reduced public transport and after already paying for the show. I think it could at least be cheaper or included in the cost of the ticket.

Overall, it was an okay experience, but nothing to write home about

I'm not sure that a park of this name actually exists. TA's current map location puts it within Headland Park on the heights of Georges Head but the g map puts it down on the actual point of Georges Head near the "Beehive Casemates", just off Chowder Bay Road, and that is certainly the place to go. There's a small clearing but take the path to the right to find some wonderful military ruins. There's a gun emplacement that makes a good shelter plus a three-story observation tower that you can climb up ladders to get to the top. Both have murals on them and you can even explore the tunnels around the emplacement, something you can't do anymore in most of the other places. You can also go past the fortifications and through a fence to stairs down to the water and an overhang. A fantastic place for exploring.

Great place to hike, enjoy the views of the harbors, visit some old buildings, see canos and fortifications, and eat at one of several restaurants.

Robertson Point Light is the nice one at the end of Cremorne Point, easily seen from the park there. It is the same design as the Bradleys Point Light, which is actually in the vicinity of Athol Wharf Road (the address given for this entry) but much closer to Bradleys Head Road, and also easy to view up close. However, the main photo appears to be of one of the lights out in the harbour closer to Georges Head. This whole area is good for a look around, with walking paths connecting almost all of the waterfront.

We met Ben exactly as promised for a full day private adventure to the Blue Mountains. He was very knowledgeable and took us to lookouts where there were only 1-2 other people. Thank you for a very memorable experience.

This is a large sculpture containing many pieces located on a traffic island across from the New South Wales State Library. It sits just to the north of an off ramp to the Eastern Distributor, between the State Library and the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Thank you to Max and Henry on a fantastic day. We started with Henry taking us on a catamaran sail around the bay where he taught our kids to sail. We then had an afternoon paddle board. It was the perfect way to spend a family day. The guys were so accommodating and helpful. We will certainly be back. ⛵️🏖️

I found Barry very helpful, he took his time to explain things I didn't fully have the knowledge about. He is a very experienced diver that seems very laid back but takes diving very seriously. He sells good quality gear and most likely has used what he sells.
The dive boat is run very professionally, and he has been running the north shore deep dives for many, many years as well as discovering many new wrecks.
I have no hesitation in recommending Southern Cross Divers for anyone is seriously interested in diving not BULLCHIT.
