This is a small family run tour which a modern boat & knowledgeable crew. We managed to see a number of whales off the Sydney coast and had a marine biologist on board who talked us through the many things we saw. Highly recommended!!

A fabulous cruise, we saw humpback whales on this afternoon cruise that included lunch. There was plenty of room on the boat and the crew were friendly and gave a useful commentary.

It was great to be out on the water and we saw a lot of whales! Six in fact. Our boat driver and guide was very helpful and did a nice job. Did not get wet, the provided wind breaker was comfortable and helpful. Consider sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

From start to finish it was a great day out. Yes, there is a lot of waiting around and watching but that is to be expected in the mid-part of the season.

We did manage to see a couple of calves and even saw a mature one breach. Unfortunately, the breach was such a surprise that I do not think many of us got a picture of that but that is for another day.

Unfortunately, not many people were wearing masks despite the guides saying it was highly recommended. From my perspective I thought that they had too many people on board to enable social distancing to occur. Thankfully, there was no one sat in front of or behind me and I was wearing a face mask. It is for this reason that I say I had some reservations about the cruise.

At this time I would make sure you wear a mask and have hand sanitiser handy.

One minor issue is with the safety briefing at the beginning. I do not care who you are but when giving a safety briefing, making jokes and laughing is not the done thing. The safety briefing is a serious issue and needs to be treated with seriousness.

I will say that the 'guide' was very informative and knowledgeable.

If you have four hours to kill between May and September then I would definitely add whale watching to your agenda.

This was an incredible tour. The seas were rough and we were offered another day, but we went and it was simply amazing. We went out and ending up spending time watching a mom and calf show off their tails as well as a couple of breeches! The crew was very friendly and knowledgeable, too! Highly recommend!

The experience you will never forget. The small boat is the way to go to do whale watching as we get the experience up close and personal with the whale. it is worth the cold and rain to get the video of the whale as they surfaced to take a breath and playing and showing off their tail. thank your for the captain and whale expert for the time and explanation for us the enjoy the experience of whale watching.

I had a wonderful whale watching experience with these guys, Gabe, Chris and other crew members whose names I can't recall.
I saw heaps of whales today aboard the Fantasia. The commentary was excellent and informative now I know how long whales live for.
Thanks guys for a good morning

The crew were really lovely, it was a fantastic day for boating, pretty calm, sunshine all round. There were about 7 other people on board so plenty of space to find a good vantage spot! Sweet views on the way in and out.

I can kind of see how the negative review might have occurred, the crew were pretty casual in the briefing given some people probably spend zero time on boats.

We were incredibly lucky to see so many whales breaching right in front of us, honestly it was downright majestic. The crew themselves were very excited and given how often they go out you know you've had a good day when they are taking as many photos as you are.

A little light on whale facts if I'm honest, I do love a good fun fact!

    Overall, awesome trip!

First time seeing whales in their natural surrounds. It was a lovely afternoon and great experience. Learnt some additional things about the whale migration north from the commentary.

This is the second time (and it won’t be the last) that I have gone whale watching with Charterscene and can highly recommend this company. Maximum passengers on the yacht is 12, which makes it an intimate experience with you and the ocean. Both times that I went, Douglas easily located the path of the humpbacks for the passengers to observe surfacing and breaching. Don’t miss this opportunity!
