- Nicole GSydney, Australia23 contributionsMy husband and I attended for our anniversary and had never been to anything like this! Firstly, I loved it. It was funny, exciting and absolutely entertaining. So much variety and it was just the best time. My only problems are not related to the show itself as that was fantastic. The only issues for us were: when you have never been it isn’t made clear where to go (we went up and down the stairs many times trying to work out where we should go), there is no spot to line up except on the stairs and the doors don’t open until 6. We only knew what to do after asking someone. Not a big deal, but could be improved. Only other issue was we were seated at a table at the bar on stools with no backs while most of the venue had proper chairs with backs. My husband is still complaining of a sore back as it wasn’t particularly comfortable. Also being right next to the bar (literally) was very noisy, glasses being rattled and shaken constantly. I’m honestly not sure if you are supposed to pay VIP to get a seat with a back but for the price I’d expect to have atleast a proper seat not a stool. I would have liked to know this beforehand if the case but I’m not sure if we just got unlucky with the seating situation. Again, the show itself was fantastic and has made me want to go to more shows of this type.Written September 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Julie ASydney, Australia13 contributionsWe set out to the theatre not realising the restaurant was right there along with a charming pub. Parking easy in the street. Next time we will go 2 or 3 hours earlier and really make a night of it. Old world charm, great menu and very intimate theatre - the Old Fitz is a delight!Written December 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DeedeeSydney, Australia2 contributionsTold to get there at 6.15pm. Didn't get food until after 7.30pm. They want you there early to spend more money at the bar. Very understaffed for the amount of people booked in. The show was amateurish and so overpriced. The staff were rude. The food was okay. Very small portion and took forever to get it. Drinks took forever to and we're overpriced and badly made. The magician and barman bought out the food. The staff acted like it was some famous Broadway show and were shhhhhhing anyone who whispered or looked at their phones or laughed. The list goes on. It was beyond a joke. The show was so so and we got figety. The place was so dark you couldn't see what you were eating. I'd say if the lights were on you would see how old and dirty it was. It really put a downer on my night. Please save yourself 100s of dollars. It's a big fat disappointment. Very hot inside with no aircon. Just an overall bad experience for me and many at my table.Written November 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
