What travelers are saying
- Teresa CMetro Manila, Philippines1,243 contributionsA fun place to spend a few hours. Plenty to see and loads of eats. Many people with dogs, some of them snappy and yappy.Written February 14, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- mrdom5,194 contributionsA bit different to most Sydney markets with hardly any food but lots of clothes and some interesting other stuff.Written February 19, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- RonWamberalSydney, Australia13,239 contributionsWouldn't make a destination trip here - nothing special but more a local community market. A few second goods but doesn't have the interest of say farmers markets in regional centres.Written December 2, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Maria-Elizabeth RoweOberon, Australia54 contributionsLovely, friendly atmosphere. A variety of market stalls. Tasted the most amazing chocolate. Ideal for tourists and families.Written April 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Punky B7 contributionsIf your after technology or knock off clothing you'll get it here. These are not great knock off's but you get what you pay for. Lots to see but not as many stalls as there used to be. Worth a look bit wouldn't rush back.Written April 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Best Sydney PCecil Hills, Australia122 contributionsOne of the oldest markets in Sydney selling arts, craft and fashion from local designers. You'll also find plants breads and pastries, coffee and a variety
of international foods. It is on the grounds of Historic Paddington Uniting Church and adjacent Paddington Public School. Toilets are on sight and there is a small childrens playground.
There is plenty of parking inside and around centennial park the closest point being about 5 minutes walk to the market. Check out our day. Many more clothing stalls than other varieties.Written March 27, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JnVSydneyGreater Sydney, Australia13,204 contributionsThe Saturday market, is very popular at the same spot, with many more stall, this one is, very small, around half a dozen stall, however, nice to visit on a sunny day.Written April 18, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Villa S1 contributionHOPELESS!
The 2021 Greek Festival held at the Hope Estate, Hunter Valley was a disaster! All unfavourable comments were removed from their Facebook page and users blocked, to hide the fact.
From the super spreader event at the gate with thousands queued at the gate to gain entry, to the thousands waiting at the few food vans, some not even Greek food!
Disability and aged person's were told to join the long queue and had to struggle down a slope in the long grass to access the toilets and food a great distance away. Two lots of loud music competing made it difficult to hear either, it was distracting to the dance performers. Reviews, before they were removed mentioned the bad conditions the performers had to deal with.
On the Hope Estate statement on Facebook it states they were aware that the major food vendor had pulled out and not informed people booking.
From the deleted Facebook posts, this is a common problem with the venue.
Trying to hide this by only posting favourable comments on Facebook will only inflame the issue. I suggest everyone seems a refund. I believe that refund requests are being blocked also.Written May 22, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - LankyleeLake Macquarie, Australia983 contributionsThis place is often crowded and is reaching its use by date. Mercifully, a new site is being developed nearby but will probablytake years. It has become more a place to eat. Good variety of seafood and cooking.Written April 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Leith3 contributionsIf ever there was a place that demonstrated the saying 'one person's trash is another's treasure', this has got to be it!. It's different to an op shop or a second hand store, because it's all about creative reuse. I saw craft materials, haberdashery, homewares, mannequins, theatre flats, paper rolls, books, records, tools, high jump mats, a giant styrofoam perfume bottle, desks and chairs, timber, bins, and so much more. I get the feeling it is different every day depending on what is donated.Written February 23, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
