This wonderful pub is full of character. They have an in-house micro brewery producing a wide range of beers, as well as serving all other popular drinks.
The pub restaurant has a very good menu, offering tasty snacks and mains. Pork pies are also available from the bar. There's also a good bistro upstairs.
Seating in or outside, and it's a good idea to book a table on weekends.

Very beautiful and classic bar bringing thoughts of the grandeur of yesteryears. Fast forward - good drinks, horrible music (in addition it was way too loud), service basically non-existent. Packed up and left, not too happy

Had a great time there for my son farewell on the 13 Jan. The music is the top amusement. Very good vibes. Top customer service! Food need to improve in quality and variety.
But the ladies toilet need a full makeover PLEASE!!
Waited for 20/ 30 minutes each time I wanted to used it. Two spaces cube for that kind of crowd is IMPOSSIBLE.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this venue in the future and I will definitely go back.

It’s got a good view and the cocktails are good, but if you’re maybe a traveler on a lower budget and you have to pick between multiple bars, maybe skip this one.
The servers were all very friendly tho. It’s just not as fancy as one would like or expect, and for the prices they charge you might have a better experience somewhere else.

It is a little tricky to find but we followed the directions from others reviews and found it. Got there early on a Saturday, just after 4pm when they opened and was so glad we did. We took a seat at the bar and the very friendly and knowledgeable staff took their time to talk my fiancé through the different whiskeys he was interested in. I asked for a sweet cocktail and was served a delicious honeycomb one. Highly recommend you check this out. But get there early if you can. And sit at the bar, where you can watch the staff in action.

There is no question CAMELOT LOUNGE is the best music venue in Sydney. The variety of world-class musicians and singers is truly amazing. Whether it's a tribute concert such as the one to Van Morrison, or gypsy inspired M.Camembert or the amazing Nadya Golski singing French songs, the artists are simply superb.
We went with a party of 20 to the M.Camembert concert a couple of weeks ago, and our party plus the packed audience were over the moon with pleasure. Bravo
What always adds to our enjoyment is that the limited menu mainly pizzas are always cooked to perfection and oh so tasty.
We're going on Saturday to one of our very favourite acts. Baby et Lulu, the incredible talents of Abby Dobson (Leonardo's Bride) and Lara Goodridge singing their fun versions of classic French pop songs, always supported by fabulous musicians.
Prices for the shows, the food and the drinks are extremely reasonable. Important in the current economic situation

After the 3 hour experience of the Bridge Climb a cold beer and lunch was called for and the Harbour View Hotel did not disappoint. A great tap beer selection with a very good lunch menu was the perfect way to finish the climb.

Great fun night out eating, drinking and watching the “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” drag acts! Food was basic (chicken burger) but good, service nice but table dirty and sticky, they need to improve standards a bit. Drag “show” was quite minimal so don’t build up your expectations that there is a long show, there were just 3 blasts of entertainment at 8, 9 and 10pm. The performers were ok but not outstanding, however the atmosphere was frivolous, fun, and we had a great night. Their choice of outfits was brilliant, iconic images from the film. Definitely worth going if you are a Priscilla fan.

The Argyle... Wow! We took my now adult kids to the Argyle and what an amazing place. The venue is large with both seating inside and out.

The majority of music was good, some however was just too loud and stuff I'd never heard or could understand (maybe I'm showing my age).

We didn't eat there but saw the staff bring out heaps of pizza's which looked great.

The drinks were well priced during there happy hour but prices sure went up after that was over.

The toilets were the big disappointment for the venue, the line for both mens and women's toilets were 20 people deep. There is a section of a few toilets for females only, then the same on the other side which were unisex, then a urinal in the back corner which I didn't see any signs for and that you wouldn't know about it you were a regular. The hotels were kind of horrible and I'm not sure how often they get cleaned but I guess with the number of patrons this place holds its not unexpected.

My kids had a ball, dancing and having a few drinks and we didn't see any trouble at all which again is expected with the number of security working, which was good to see, although it did appear that if you were a footballer there was clearly more leeway in relation to the rules then the average person.

Would I go back to the Argyle... No! but both my kids said they would go back in a heart beat so I guess this place is well and truly for the younger generation on a regular basis but also for everyone just for the experience.

Solo business trip to Sydney, dropped in to The Rover on a Saturday mid-evening for its vibe. It's bang next to Central so handy if your stay is in the CBD. Left with a happy buzz after a couple of hours at the counter top upstairs. First shout goes to Sabrina and the great team, friendly, sparky and enthusiastic, with a warm welcome and keen to guide through a tasty menu they are all rightly proud of. Next up, the food and cocktails. Had the eel pate and crumpets, Gidley burger and a special desert - a lemon meringue pie. Every bite tells the story of how much effort has been put it to use great ingredients for perfect plates of taste and texture. Sabrina shook me up a great seasonal Playing RL and mixed fab bitter, bold and balanced Negronis, all the time multitasking with chat (thank you!), working her tickets and shaking like a demon. Nice.

The Rover, you're top of my Sydney list. I can't wait to being back a crowd.

Don’t miss a tasting at Young Henry’s. Fun atmosphere, mingle with locals, taste a variety of beer and cider. Good music. They close at 7pm. We loved talking with locals and hanging out with their dogs. Very friendly place.

Great pub/bar just off the tourist trail with less crowds and good beer. Historic building with a great stone interior too.

Rocked up looking for a place to dance and this was it. Great music downstairs and awesome crowd. The upstairs bartenders are a bit rude but make drinks pretty fast. The crowd upstairs varies immensely from the downstairs crowd. Either way, a Friday night in there is where it's at.

Still has the iconic underground space and funky toilets and the overpriced Asian food upstairs (or overpriced Greek downstairs?) and it looks nice on the ground level so makes a good day pub as well. It's expensive but probably in line for craft beers in the city, so either pay the same at a cruddy place or get cruddy beer cheap at somewhere like the Shark.
