What travelers are saying
- EddyCSSydney, Australia204 contributionsThe best history of Australian war there is. Such a great exhibit. Even my 4 year old enjoyed it.
Starting at WW1 it is a great journey through history and brings the stories to life in such a real way.
We can never repeat these atrocities and these exhibits showcase this in an amazing way.
Do yourself a favour and take a walk down Anzac Parade as well for the beautiful memorials, particularly the naval one.Written January 29, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's fully wheelchair accessible, and ther're plenty of staff around. There's also a decent sized cafe on site. Besides the House of Reps and Senate, there are some very interesting exhibits and amazing full-size portraits.Written January 19, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Angus MGreater Sydney, Australia45 contributionsThe current special exhibition "Curiosity- building breakthroughs in Lego bricks" is a wonderful experience for all ages from about 4 or 5 up. Some huge models of a "Lego Man", a rocket and many other space-related models are accompanied by some fascinating scientific and mathematical facts. For those wanting a hands-on experience, there are several work-stations to play at. Combined with the more general exhibits on the other floors of this excellent science museum, it adds up to a great and inspiring 2-3 hours, especially for the curious.Written February 5, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ThehaikubanditMelbourne, Australia46 contributionsTidbinbilla is incredibly peaceful, and it's really amazing to see so many animals in a very natural environment. I've never seen so many bandicoots in my life! The talk from the staff about the koalas was really informative, and it was great to learn about their rehabilitation work. The visitors centre was unfortunately being renovated and was closed, but this just means we'll have to visit again. If you have access to a car I can't think of a nicer way to spend a day in Canberra.Written December 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Iain MBrisbane, Australia493 contributionsAnother must do when in Canberra. This man made lake has about 40 kilometres of shoreline and you can even do a short cruise on it. You can't miss driving around parts of it. There are plenty of smooth walking and cycling tracks. There are many public areas where you can fire up the barbie. Some great views of Canberra and the 147-metre high Captain Cook jet fountain.Written January 19, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AussieVGMarsfield, Australia476 contributionsI love a visit to this museum, and it was a pleasure to revisit as a parent with the toddler. The exhibition halls are a great mix and perfectly engaging for all ages. We also visited the discovery centre which was brilliant. We did get lost a bit, more signs back to the exit in the outdoor space would be welcome.Written September 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wendy F1 contributionThe gardens has been one of the most memorable and amazing places we have visited in Canberra (October 2024) we were amazed with the attention to details of every building, figurine, gardens, trains, flowers and international history. The gardens also had many interactive features for children (and very big children) to interact with. Well worth the trip and entrance fee, there is so much work that goes into this attraction, well done to the creator, gardeners, designers and I would imagine many more. We also enjoyed a lovely morning tea in the Cafe.Written October 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
