Fantastic castle in the middle of nowhere, hard to find at night, but once you're there, bliss...

The room was typical well-appointed Italian hotel quality and a nice bathroom with - great after a day on the road, a tub!

The best part was the La Rochetta restaurant in a beautiful vaulted hall, exquisite appointments and professional service, and then the food and local wine. Fabulous.

We were treated by friends to a day in Grazzano Visconti and despite the cold and rainy weather, a tour of the wax museum made it all worth it. It is a small and quaint museum with wax statutes dressed in beautiful authentic costumes. The highlight of this place, however, was our guide Maurizio, a great story-teller with a deep knowledge of the history of the region. He told detailed stories about each character with such passion and excitement that it was truly infectious. He that feels like you are seriously makes you feel like you are in his home and he is talking about people he knew. This museum is situated on these beautiful grounds surrounded by trees and brick structures right out of medieval times. A truly beautiful place. This little museum is a must see.

We had a nice afternoon at this palazzo. There is considerable and interesting information to the history of the Farnese family and the city of Piacenza. We were there on a very hot day, and suggest if you are they in the summer, visit in the morning.

If you love Verdi, visiting the Villa Verdi is very special. To see how he lived and composed and loved, gives a wonderful context to his life and work. And the garden is so peaceful and beautiful. But there are some things to know. It is not easy to get to Saint Agata without a car, so if you are not driving yourself, you may need to look into a driver (we had a great one). Secondly, as others have pointed out, the tour is in Italian. We don’t speak Italian but still found it fascinating-just take a little time to learn about Verdi’s life in Saint Agata before you go and it will still be enjoyable and special.

Nice place to visit the people spot in piacenza with some cool coffees and shops. We stop there for a coffee and enjoy the early day sun light and come back in night to explore but it was like a ghost place!!

A little bit far from the city center but definitely worth the effort. An artistic and architectural gem with an important historical significance.

What a lovely church to sit a few minutes and reflect. A beautiful tranquility is felt by anyone staying a few moments. I was amazed at how many beautiful churches were in this wonderful little city on the trebbia

If you would like an overview about the Italian pre and post-impressionism, you will find it here. The gallery is wonderful, not only the paintings, but the building itself too. Congratulation!

This monastery was created in 614 so 1407 years ago, can you imagine this land so far in time ?
During medieval period this monastery was one of most important in Europe and was the center of the new city growing centuries after centuries.
The church was built in 1522 over the ancient church and built in Roman style, the facade has a beautiful portico and a statue of Saint Colombano over the top.

Been to this winery on my last 2 trips to Italia and it was fantastic going with my family. Tasted several wines and came back with bottles of Pantera, Selin and Le Rane. All excellent wines, ottimi vini! I asked about the availability in the USA but they were talking to an importer. Nice light food and great staff too! Forza Luretta!

It is a beautiful experience to take in the simplicity of this era through visiting this town. Also the Collegiata is beautiful and one should take some time to let it sink in. Not just make your snapshot and move on. Take a coffee on a terrace nearby, stroll quietly through the aisles of the church and take your time feeling the quiet.
after all that enjoy a wonderful lunch or dinner

We visited the Castel some weeks ago and was a amazing experience. The Castel is well preserved and the garden is a dream garden. The tour guide was very interesting. If some of our friend will come to Italy, definetly we will suggest to come to visit this place.
