The very knowledgeable guide took the 3 of us round and explained the history and all the details of the church, cloisters and museum including the beautiful works of art, sculpture, frescoes and architecture.
Some ladies organised a 'friends of the church' group and will take you through the sacristy, cloisters and a little museum which are closed to the general public.

There is so much to see within these three museums, including plenty of artwork (my highlight being Andrea Sacchi's 'Daedalus and Icarus'), also beautiful gardens and absolutely sensational views from the terrace...
The staff in the museum is very helpful and guides you through out the museum.

Galata Museo del Mare Genoa 11.7 mi away

Like most Italian museums, it's full of interesting hands-on, interactive exhibits, of which its section detailing Italian immigration to the US between 1870 and 1930 is particularly well done.
This spends most of its space in re-creating the areas on the steerage section of a passenger ship, and is one of the most outstanding re-creations that I have encountered in museums around the world.

Musei di Nervi Wolfsoniana Genoa 7.7 mi away
#18 of 57 Museums in Genoa
For me, Wolfsonia is the best, with its excellent collection of early 20th century Italian works, and its fine assembly of furniture, but the other museums, devoted to earlier Italian art, are just as splendid.
It is close to three other museums (Gallery of Modern Art, Frugone Collection and Luxoro Museum) and it houses works going from the late 1800s to the end of World War II.
