While in Kumasi, I visited the Manhyia Palace Museum. The tour started with a short video on the history of the Asantes (yes this is the correct spelling). I learned about the rise of the Asante kingdom, the Asantehene, the Queen Mother and the resilience of the Asante warriors. This really set the pace for the rest of the tour which was quite informative and educational.

Our tour guide led us through room after room and explained the significance (and importance) of each artifact such as original furniture, thrones, wax figures, gold ornaments and even a working refrigerator from 1974! However, please note that pictures and recordings are not allowed.

Overall I left with a feeling of cultural awareness and empowerment; but most importantly, a connection to and an appreciation of these majestic people which I descended from.

Tip - Schedule your visit for the same day of the Akwasidae Festival which is an experience in itself!

Kejetia market in Kumasi is also known as Dubai. Prices are moderate. You will find almost everything from food to clothing , toiletries, fabrics, shoes etc.

Very crowded most of the time and quite noisy but a great place to find food item you need at a good price.

For history as well as planet lovers this is your thing. A law created by a crater . Can’t can more magnificent than late . You get see the local lives of people as well as some hospitality establishment but I think tourism authority can do for the place than what is there currently .

If your into military artifacts and history, very good spot to visit. The guide was very knowledgeable, and I learned some things. Lots of not too often seen weaponry. Quick and easy tour

Absolutely excellent museum. Small but perfectly formed as they say! It houses many asante artifacts from the olden days which all together tell a very interesting story.

The guide who showed us round was very knowledgeable and informative.

I love love love this mall. There’s an array of different shops and readily available ATM’s. There’s also a huge grocery store with the most friendly staff. My favorite part was the local wines in the lobby. I enjoyed sipping on my palm wine while shopping.

Visit this forest reserve and learn more about tropical plants n trees. See lots of butterfly 🦋 species and admire Nature but there's no working network at all when you enter the forest until you return to the village on the highway.

The sword was an interesting place. We were allowed to try to pull the sword out. We decided not to try because we just want to enjoy our retirement.

Located in a calm setting, Kumasi Cultural Center is a quiet and clean place to discover the history of Ghana. You can see beautiful artworks, crafts, and learn something from the past. You don't have to worry about finding food because there are different restaurants in there, and stores where you can buy from. It's a great mix of learning and easy living.

This was my first time ever in a casino, and I enjoyed every second of it. The food and drinks were amazing, and I was able to win a couple games of BlackJack so, I will definitely be back!
