What travelers are saying
- doversoleWenhaston, UK371 contributionsAn inexpensive way to spend an hour or so. Music all around you, an interesting introductory visual presentation of the man and his music. He only lived here a short time having been born in the countryside but his school and formative years were here. Excellent presentation of what the town was like at that time, and how people lived in the late 19th century. Not busy at all when I was there on a Saturday afternoon.Written May 18, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - vacleanCambridge, MA461 contributionsThis is real paradise for old technology lovers - cars, bikes, prams, heaters, radios, etc., etc. The descriptions are in Czech only, though.Written September 30, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WaterloonieSanta Barbara, CA1,442 contributionsIn a thousand year old tower this quirky museum has hundreds of fascinating displays of the biggest and weirdest and smallest things.
If you find yourself near Pelhřimov, be sure to spend a couple of hours here.youWritten July 3, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It showed the history of Jihlava and the area around from a very deep history to the present plus natural history, animals, stones, old sculptures ... I really liked figurines in costumes displayed in the ambience where the people lived in that time.
You can see seasonal exhibitions here too. This museum definitely is not boring! Higly recommend.

It is great to learn about the partnership of Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser, cofounders of the Viennese Secession and Wiener Werkstatte. Both exhibitions - temporary and permanent ones - are prepared and supported by two institutions: Moravian Gallerry and Austrian MAK.Written July 1, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PavlaPavlaChrudim, Czech Republic6,172 contributionsIt is a very lovely, small museum located in the cellar of the old Baroque house on the Masaryk Square. The exhibition shows a lot of typical Czech ghosts. There are very funny information about each ghost (what is its job, if it is dangerous, where you can meet it...). It is perferct place for families with kids.
Admission is really very low: 15,- CZK per adult and 10,- CZK per kid.Written November 1, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Michal K30 contributionsHi all,
I never heard about this museum and only coincidence that we have our way near the castle Kamen where is this museum located give us chance to see this small but very nice museum.
This museum is not big, but is very original.. you can see lot of old mostly Czechoslovakian motorcycles, all of them in excelent condition. It is not bombastic museum, it is small regional almost "domestic" place, but if you are not fan of old motobikes you have chance to see waht you never see before..
good for mother and fathers, parents and childs, seniors and teens.. cheap and excitingWritten July 5, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is an exhibition about history of Pelhřimov and you can visit torture chamber too. Very beautiful is the frescoes hall.
You can use audio guide or guidebook there. Entrance fee is 40,- CZK per adult.Written February 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I liked very much the etnographical display, which showed life and traditions in Humpolec area. Very nice was the interior of the country house from 19th century.
Visitors could see exposition about antropologist Aleš Hrdlička who was born in Humpolec and very lovely exhibition about sewing clothes and shoe making. There was a small exhibition about puppets too.
On the ground floor there was a seasonal exhibition of modern sculpture and painting.Written July 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. "Interesting to see" if you are an air-plane fan and you can list all types of MiG-21 jet under one minute.
"Eeee...wow" if you are a normal guy, just liking to see air-planes.
"What?" if you are a family with kids.
It is not bad, but bit sad - there are some lovely planes, unique ones, rotting under the open sky. Kind of cemetery.
And hard to reach as well; dont go there without car and GPS.Written October 10, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
