- Sergej GRiga, Latvia4 contributionsEasy, stylish, proportionate. This architecture will be relevant for a long time. A style that was ahead of its time. - UGM_BRNOBrno, Czech Republic3,328 contributionsBrno has a long tradition of racing concerning both cars and motorcycle s. The exhibition named Behind the wheel collects artefacts connected to activities of motor club and also racing cars of Moravian brands. Ladies will be inspired to learn lots of facts about the very successful female racer Ms Eliska Junkova riding the Bugatti car. She communicated to many foreign racers inviting them to take part in the new Brno circuit also referred as the Masaryk circuit in 1930. After her racing career she promoted the tyres produced in the Bata factory. Her idea was the name BARUM tyres. She soke several languages and liked music, Leos Janacek was her music teacher in Brno. What an inspiring lady!Written February 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- chimayredDurham, NH2,320 contributionsa gorgeous citadel on a hill with great views, nice but not massive gardens. We didn't go in. Right off the main square in this delightful surprise of a Moravian gem.Written September 5, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - UGM_BRNOBrno, Czech Republic3,328 contributionsSummer time is the best time to become star observer at least being located in Europe. In Brno you could observe the SUN model decorating the place nearby the Observatory and Planetarium. Mr Dusek, the manager, lifted up his light sword and enjoyed the gathering of owners of light swords in Brno including kids and seniors too. You should have been with us!Written July 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Polo MParis, France486 contributionsThis place is the exact spot where Gregor Mendel, the father of genetics, performed his peaplant experiments.
The museum sits next to the garden, observatory, and church where Mendel studied. There is a small cafe inside with some gift items. The admission ticket was about €2-3, with free coat and backpack check.
Inside you're guided by a timeline of Mendel's life, his parents, his study, his notes, and any new advances in genetics. There's interactive peas where you can count the results of a punnet square.
The museum is quite small. It took me about 20-30 minutes to get through it. Friendly staff, and great history.Written November 16, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This museum shares the diverse and important history of Romani - with emphasis on Romani in Bohemia, Moravia, Slovakia and the wider central Europe area. It is a big subject to get into 6 beautifully done rooms. We get culture, belief, migration, work and a lot of systematic oppression including the Holocaust. I found out about how Slovakian Romani fought against Fascism with the partisans. It is a museum of living culture and that is shown especially in rooms 5 and 6. There are lots of fascinating artefacts and music everywhere.
It makes me feel sick to read other reviews complaining about 'the area' the museum is in. They mean Roma live in the area and that it is not an area for their fellow bigots. The area is great. Go there. You can use your Brno Card as well.Written December 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have offered to some friends a guided tour at the Moravian Gallery to share my love for the very special collection full of beauty inside the Governor´s Palace. I have warned the small group of visitors that they would only taste the exhibition named BRNO suburb of Vienna. Why? – I want all of them to feel the need to return and come repeatedly. We have agreed that I could make a picture if they feel like building a memory documenting the instant relation between the artefact and its admirer. Maybe you will join us next time for the permanent exhibitions of the Moravian Gallery are free of charge. So save the money and invest into your HAPPINESS.Written July 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BorisJr76 contributionsGreat cellars and nice place for small degustation of good wine and also big labirint. We tried more offers of wine like tasting menu. The better choice were white wines. Personal is nice and the serve small snack (homemade pate). Where you stayed in Valcice, you need to try itWritten November 22, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - UGM_BRNOBrno, Czech Republic3,328 contributionsI was lucky being invited to visit this Brno villa designed by Ernst Wiesner while rooms were full of flowers arranged by contemporary floral designers. One more thing attracted my attention - the fashion parade - hommage to Elsa Schiaparelli. My friend and me had our hats on as well and we applauded to beautiful ladies and their creations. We had enjoyed the inspiring moments and wish you to have the fall of grace too.Written November 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - diver8264Prague, Czech Republic232 contributionsMost of the time there was just us two in the museum (just missed a large group of schoolkids) so no problem looking at the exhibits undisturbed.
Good displays, and the full size mammoth is impressive, but most information is only in Czech.
The replica cave paintings I enjoyed especially, good photos are possible.
There is a small cafe inside the building, and souvenir shop.
There are gardens around the building with some statues etc, but nothing special at that time of year.Written October 12, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. What a cool place, and on top of that the tickets were only 4 euro per person. The only problem i had that this beautiful collection would deserve a bigger place, sometimes difficukt to take proper photos as the vehicles are too close to each other. But yes, it´s truly a MUST to see. Wooow.Written September 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- qtsam17Sandhurst, UK113 contributionsWith the knowledge here this could be expanded much more.
Its all in one hall but wasnt expensive to get in so I feel it was worth the visit
Most artifacts are copies but this is only because the originals were bombed in the war and luckily they took photos of the originals.
Very interesting about the Mammoths but need a little something extra to bring more people.
All the staff I spoke to here could speak good English and they had leaflets in English

Feel invited to the Palace of Noble Ladies and its ethnografic exposition focusing on puppets. The city of Brno is lucky to have two puppet theatres - Radost and Polarka inviting both kids and adults. The reconstructed Palace of Noble Ladies shows rtraditons and oots of the puppet show - various forms of puppets, their costumes, stages. From time to time there is a puppet show, often very lively and full of laughing. For souls who prefer peace there is another exhibiton illustrating the Life in traditons and habits, do not miss the cabinet full of folk music. It is great to balance laugh and reason, this place will inspire you in many ways.Written February 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Janka KBrno, Czech Republic6,003 contributionsGreat bike/kick scooter destination for a short trip in Brno. The girl at cash desk was very nice and allowed us to leave my and my friend's kick scooter at the gift shop where also the cash desk was. Thumb up for that!
Entrance 50 crows in more than fair, considering the fun you will have taking all those pictures in tractors. In general, I was pleasantly surprised by the place as I was little afraid that it will be kind of boring (I'm not 6-years old boy).
The museum was full of children, mostly boys. I understand that this must be heaven for them, especially the new tractor models. Children can do also other activities, such as coloring some pictures and hang them later on the wall.
The place has a small refreshment corner with coffee machine and places to sit. You might take a break from picture taking, or watching your kids climbing up and down from tractors.Written October 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
