- Dickdob1053York, UK74 contributionsIt is a very well presented collection with most objects labelled in very good English as well as Czech. The Archbishop of Olomouc was a major political player in European history and this museum really allows you to understand the roots of his power. The volunteer ladies appear somewhat stern but are actually very friendly and willing to help although they do not all speak English.Written November 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PhilipRylahBratislava, Slovakia233 contributionsWe went on a rainy day in the area but it would have been worthwhile whatever the weather. This is a very well thought-out museum with lots of interesting hands-on activities for the kids - including a sit-in gyroscope which our 7 year-old loved. Good value too.Written August 12, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JaromirUherske Hradiste, Czech Republic162 contributionsI didn't expect so many things to explore, it was actually fun even for me, not only kids. - Barbara S60 contributionsIf you are in Olomouc visiting the Museum of Modern Arts is a must. Personally, I enjoyed the collection of 3rd floor the most where you can find the newest masterpieces. From this floor you can also climb up to the attic and enjoy the sweet view.Written March 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jirka117Prague, Czech Republic32 contributionsTo watch the true old processing is like a miracle. Also the price you pay at the shop are quite surprising.Written September 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fuzz K117 contributionsOlomouckych Tvaruzku is with out a doubt the Czech Republic’s most famous cheese, it’s also one of the smelliest/stinky cheeses you will ever encounter, however it’s also amazingly tasty. This museum presents the story & history of this amazing little cheese in a fun and interesting manner. At the end of the museum is the cheese shop where you can buy every variety of the cheese they make. If you are in the area or really like specialty cheese then this place is a must visit..Written October 29, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dazzahurhamDurham, UK156 contributionsI'm not a petrol head but I thought this was a great way to spend an hour. Some amazing cars and some signs in English. We'll worth a visitWritten August 27, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PavlaPavlaChrudim, Czech Republic6,172 contributionsThere are seasonal exhibitions on the ground floor. During my visit it was exhibition about world mysteries and secrets, such as the crystal skull, the Shroud of Turin, Excalibur sword, etc. On the first floor there was another seasonal exhibition about playing cards and their history.
On the second floor there was a permanent exhibition dedicated to the history of Olomouc and on the third floor you could find exhibits about fauna and flora. I found very interesting and not too common in the Czech Republic, that some panels with interactive sound elements on the third floor were described in Braille.
I liked an old pharmacy very much. There were real dried herbs and it smelled beautiful there. The museum is worth visiting, it is not big and every one can find something interesting there.
The entrance fee to the museum was 120,- CZK and to the seasonal exhibition 60,- CZK.Written June 14, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately, there are not all the explanations, the support deserves to be enriched. We took the option with a tour of the organ and had an awesome demonstration of someone playing us 2 pieces. The cloister and cellars are also interesting.Written September 8, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David M39 contributionsWe visited this private collection as part of a tour of the Czech Republic that took us to many out-of-the-way places. It is housed upstairs at the Horský hotel Skiland, where we also ate supper and visited with a local group. The collection of instruments was impressive on several accounts-- first of all, it's the work of the owner, a man who really likes music, and secondly, it is wide ranging, from the usual Western instruments (strings, brass) to percussion from across the globe, instruments associated with the Far East, and much more. One section contains a wide array of accordions, another displays dozens of zithers. It's a feast for the eyes, and displays of photographs celebrate people's from around the world making music. Photographs on the website show groups of children being introduced to the gallery, so it'd be suitable for youngsters who can be relied on to look but not touch.Written May 18, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael Stuart EOlomouc, Czech Republic266 contributionsThe owner Robert Runtak has put a huge amount of energy and love into this gallery which exceeds what you might expect from a relatively small city.Written June 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
