Often you go on a war tour its one fortification that you see. Here you have linked a large artillery fortress with its surrounding defensive strong points. You walk and understand how they protected the bigger fortress and as they tell the story how the fortresses were linked in this corner of the Czech / German / Poland border in 1938. Lots of tress now but the views are fantastic, its 2000 feet up but a great place for Czechs to fly kites have a picnic as well as mad Brits doing war tours many many miles from home...this is definitely in the boonies being 2.5 hours drive from Prague.

Lovely castle to visit! In addition to the castle our little one enjoyed feeding the birds and farm animals and exploring the park. We enjoyed a nice contemporary lunch in the restaurant which was delicious and I will consider returning just for the food when next in the area.

Whilst in Hradec Kralove, you cannot afford to skip your visit to the Museum of East Bohemia, where you will be taken on a tour to the region's past and even its remote times. The building itself is the town's one of many landmarks.

I have been visiting the old planetarium since I was a child and its turning star sky and weekends with fairy-tales belong to my best memories. Although it is nostalgy for me, I believe it has still a lot to offer to people nowadays, from interesting lectures to observing stars. However, the new planetarium is even more fascinating with its modern technology - you can lean your seat and enjoy watching estonishing documents on the whole roof or travel to different planets. It is definitelly worth visiting.

Curation is very well done. Really nice exhibits both temporary and permanent.

Worth at least an hour of your time. Venue is a lovely piece of architecture on its own.

The forest around the monument is full of smaller monuments towards fallen soldiers. I really recommend you go there and take time to wander around the forest - just take care as you can get lost.

2000 paper models from 80 different artists! Artists from Czech, Slovakia, Poland, Germany and more. A huge range of sizes from absolutely tiny to huge. Models of everything you can think of from local buildings and castles to tanks, to birds, to science fiction characters.

Adults and children of all ages will absolutely love this gem of a collection! The price is 60kc for adults and 40 for kids. We gazed in wonder for a couple of hours. Well worth finding if you are anywhere near this out of the way spot!

An impressive and effective tour of the 150 Year old piano manufacturer. One of the most respected in the industry. you get to see and try their instrument includng some very rare ones. You also get to spend as long as you like playing in their show room, where their entire range, including the top end concert grand - are available to you.

The factory has gone out of their way to accomodate my visit ( They normally open the museum on Tuesday and Thursdays only).

Every day (ordering required) you can decorate a cup or bowl. In 2-3 days, the potter burns a bowl or cup and you can take it away. On Thursday, you can see casting bells.
