What travelers are saying
- Jiri KBrno, Czech Republic116 contributionsThere are several different routes according to you wish and physical abilities. You will find there marvellous views of high blocks of sandstone, wooden staircases, and a possibility to use a boat trip on the rock lake.Written May 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ApinkaBysice, Czech Republic133 contributionsThe highest mountain of the Czech Republic was conquered. A mystical place for all Czechs and Poles. I recommend climbing along the chain. Post office and restaurant at the top.Written July 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Mary T10 contributionsAbsolutely gorgeous. We were glad we went in January when there were few other hikers and the ice crystals on the trees so stunningWritten February 14, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mjones1954Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic12 contributionsA gorgeous walk. While not stroller friendly, it is well marked in Czech, Polish, and English. While not free it is very reasonable (cost about as much as a couple of soft drinks). The trail is cobble stone initially, then changes to gravel. In then areas that are eco protected in is raised wooden structured. The entire walk is very relaxing BEAUTIFUL view of nature. You have the option of climbing 300 steps to a birds-eye view on top of the mountain. The view is awesome but not for the faint of heart.Written November 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jakub FCzech Republic399 contributionsThe tower is nicely renovated, I like it. But the view of the parking lot (read: the main square) is not so nice...Written August 12, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was great. We started at Slavný and went to Hvězda chapel. There we took late lunch and all the trip was great.Written August 24, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom Green ZebraJicin, Czech Republic42 contributionsDuring the summer I visit this castle every week with my clients. Castle is very well preserved and shows how people lived in Middle Age. Interiors are interesting and well preserved too. Staff is helpful and guides are knowledgeable. Tours are in Czech language, but they have nice texts many languages. Recommended!Written September 5, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Frantisek RuzhaPrague, Czech Republic506 contributionsThe castle, including the garden, is a beautiful decoration of the city. But also the devil welcoming in the restaurant Peklo - Bartoňova utulna is sympathetic, even if it is folk art.Written April 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Owen KPrague, Czech Republic52 contributionsThis is used to be a hospital, many years ago. The tour around the spectacular building takes about an hour. It is about 1.5 hours drive from Prague, but well worth the trip. There is also a very big herb garden to view.Written July 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tony RPrague, Czech Republic11 contributionsA brilliant day with the added visit of the reservoir and dam structures. Old style design surrounded with forest and very well attended restaurants and bars.
Parking can be a little hit and miss, you might have to leave the car a 10 minute walk away on busy days.
Three restaurants are within a five minute walk and all provide good menu selection for sitting inside or out on the terrace area. Staff are particularly friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable as well.
Play areas for children are clean, tidy and close to your dining area for safety.
In summary a good place to either cycle, walk or just bimble along without a care in the world. I personally recommend it!Written August 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is probably very busy during summer months with places being open. We came during winter when everything was closed, but this meant the place was very quiet and peaceful. The monument to babicka and the children is very sweet.Written April 21, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ivan MCzech Republic314 contributionsThis small area is for sure worth seeing ! We came there specially because we knew this is a wonderfull place.
And it is indeed !
Few practical recommendations :
There are two basic tours - a short one marked yellow and a "full" one, marked green. The green one is far better although it is demanding some phsical training.
If you enter the park through the main entrance, choose the green mark and go to the left ! Most people turn right and if you do it differently, you go against the main stream of tourists but later you meet them just for a while and thus you can enjoy the trip w/t crowds.
We started at 9 a.m. and we were there quite alone. But keep in mind that the area gets quickly overcrowded later during the day especially during the main seson. This may complicate the visit of some viewpoints which are on the top of the rocks.
Our favourite viewpoint was "Vyhlídka míru" offering great view of Trosky and Ještěd ....Written July 19, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
