- AB157Manchester, UK51 contributionsA very helpful start to a visit to the Terezin Memorial. Well laid out, and informative text. We spent a while there, and could have stayed longer, but it was also good to spend time wandering around the rest of the Memorial site. The ghetto museum is a very effective introduction to the various roles the town had played, and the tragic events it had been part of.
The children's drawings and the recollections of survivors were particularly moving. The labels giving the artist's name, dates and place of death were subtly hard-hitting, putting individuals to the ghastly numbers.
We did the trip on our own, getting the metro to Litnany and then tracking down the bus to Terazin. It worked out well and gave us a lot of flexibility - although it was fortuitous that we got a bus back despite the times being completely different from the timetable we'd found!Written September 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - shellBarwell, UK45 contributionsMe and my family came here for a walk about seeing family in the area. The park is massive itself and there are lots of different animals including bears and tigers. There are food facilities and toilets available. We absolutely loved it, first time for me and my son but my partner has been many times over the years.
Would definately recommend.Written June 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Like so much of this visit it was moving and poignant. Something you should see in the large fortress.Written July 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- decline421Greater Sydney, Australia405 contributionsRegional museum telling a regional story. Excellent insight into locality and local history. Splendid building in cobbled square. Tour by guide only - no free wanderings. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic - both Czech and understandable English. Excellent interiors, collections of furniture and ceramics etc. Good restaurants opposite in the square, apparently parking available (visible space, though a bit hard to tell the local regulations). 20 mns pleasant walk from main railway station. Good loos. Why wouldn't you go....?Written July 13, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Anna S36 contributionsNot for the claustrophobic! A fantastic piece of fortress history, and well worth any extra to see during a tour of the Terezin Small Fortress tour.Written October 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Martin CHluboka nad Vltavou, Czech Republic13 contributionsHuge, not annoying exhibition of hop production, its history and the whole Žatec area. Suitable also for kids. You can easily just through its three floors and you will see a lot or you can study all details and text panels. You will be happy in both cases.Written July 27, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- bilboburglerOtley, UK210 contributionsThis museum has a lovely Ginkgo tree near the main entrance. When buying your ticket you need to decide whether you want to see the temporary art exhibitions too, as there is an extra fee for that. The permanent museum exhibitions start with the history of Decin - the area just under, and to the east of, the castle was the first to be populated. Then there are a few early bicycles, including an English one, before you go upstairs to find some old photos and a few rooms devoted to the history of shipping on the River Labe/Elbe. There's also a film showing the town's new steel bridge being constructed in 1923 and slid into place on the foundations of the old bridge - quite fascinating. In the garden at the back is a small collection of stone statuary. The problem for non-Czech speakers is that nothing is labelled in any other language, nor were any leaflets available to explain what's what. But a very kind member of staff who spoke German gave us a guided tour, speaking slowly enough for us to understand.Written July 8, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - René SRoslev, Denmark42 contributionsIt's a pity that this museum is so hard to find. It really deserve much more publicity.
This museum It's the old mine and well hidden in the middle of an old industrial arie. When we arrived, we wasn't even sure that we were the right place.
We didn't have hige expectation about our visit, but hidden in the old buildings was an interesting and modern exhibition about the mining history and the guide was fantastic.Written July 11, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It spreads across two floors and exhibits different artefacts starting all the way from Stone Age until recent history. Most of the exhibits remain static and there is always a new exhibition that changes approximately every three months. What was particularly interesting was the upper floor that presented Top 20 facts for which Litomerice is famous for. Moreover, there was a small workshop to keep young children entertained. Definitely worth a visit if you have some free time.Written September 10, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
