After doing the castle tour, we decided we’d treat ourselves to coffee and cake, if we could find a place that wasn’t a bar selling coffee. We spotted the Bicycle Guard art installation and then looked at the decorated painted tables and thought, worthy of further investigation. We wandered in and were blown away by the quirky and tasteful art and just great authentic vibe. This was no chain!

The cake was delicious and coffee first rate. We bought a ceramic pot as well.

And finally it has to be said - everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly. Really you must visit when you’re in Loket.

I visited this place with s family on December Sunday and it tuned us into perfect Christmas mood. The place was on high demand with difficulty to park, queues in corridors, but not overcrowded as Prague’ s Christmas markets. You can see and absolutely all possible Christmas decorations. There was live music, mulled wine and total Christmas paradise for children with moving animals figures. The teddy bears collection is really big. Wonderful around Christmas otherwise I would feel a bit cheesy.

A fascinating display of Czech design from former Czechoslovakia. Get an up-close look at items used for daily life. It's the closest thing to time travel.

Have fun! One hour of happy laughing and exploring optical illusions in Franzensbad /Františkovy Lázně. Recommended for families / couples or a small group of friends.
We made a lot of pictures, some of them were used later on as basis for some drawings.

A large part of the exhibition is about the history of the town, spa treatment, discovery of springs and geology. However, there are also other interesting exhibits to see. Very nice is the exhibition dedicated to the stay of J.W. Goethe or the English King Edward VII. in Mariánské Lázně. Miniature puppets by J.W. Goethe and other people depicting scenes from the poet's life are really cute. In the exhibition "Famous Visitors of Mariánské Lázně", you will be surprised how many famous people visited Mariánské Lázně.

When visiting the museum, you can also watch a 30-minute film about the history of the town (in Czech or German). Admission for an adult is 90,- CZK.

My friend took me here to see history of Mattoni. I think the museum has lots of potential for expansion and to continue to share and educate tourists on the history of Kyselka and Mattoni. It is truly sad that Mattoni who profits so greatly from this spring has not done more to preserve its history. The same goes for the government. However you do see efforts of them trying to save and renovate a few buildings now. Once upon a time, this must have been the place to be.

This is a small museum with some 40 motorcycles and a number of early bicycles. The range of motorcycles, and the age--a few over 100 years old--was remarkable. Some of the early bikes were little more than bicycles with motors attached, and one could observe the "evolution" of the vehicle with the displays. Some of the models were known to us and others were completely new--models long obscured by the Iron Curtain. Really fun to see!

If you want to know something more about history of Františkovy Lázně and spa treatment, it is perfect place to go. You can see the original statue of Francis by Adolf Mayerl from 1923 there too. Honestly, the statue, which is located in the park now, I like much more. I really liked the old pictures of people strolling in the parks or in front of spa buildings. Their clothes were so beautiful and elegant.

The entrance fee was really cheap: 50,- CZK per adults. They offered there very nice postcards too.
