- Warren WhyteIsle of Wight, UK207 contributionsWell worth a detour if you have any interest in the history of Skoda with a good range of cars and bikes detailing the history from the very beginning. A little thin on the communist era cars with the 1970s and early 1980s seemingly forgotten, with some 1960s cars displayed on hard to view racking. Small gift shop with some interesting books and models. Highly recommend visiting the second hall which is accessed from outside with additional cars and some prototypes to see. Free car park outside and entry tickets excellent value. Sadly the adjacent Skoda new car showroom is not open on weekends.Written August 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - navyjim58Czech Republic862 contributionsEnjoyed this Musem very much. Couples with grown children and everybody said they liked it. Lot of history here. Spent about two hours here. Little crowded on this particular day. We walked from our hotel. Plenty of restaurants around. Recommend if you are in Kutna Hora Czech Republic.Written October 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MegProvidence, RI34 contributionsThe chocolate museum is a fun stop in Kutna Hora. The proprietor was really lovely to talk with and explained everything about the different chocolates we tried. It was both informative and delicious! Definitely recommend stopping in.Written October 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ilja MPrague, Czech Republic79 contributionsThis castle is really worth a visit, especially if you are interested in aristocratic life.
There is a nice park open for relaxation. You can buy a picnic basket (they have three types of baskets: so-called coffee basket, for couples, for families). You must order a basket ahead.Written August 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Pity though, you can't touch the figurinies. For entry price though, still worth a go. You can see groot too!Written August 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- muchlandreaPrague, Czech Republic138 contributionsI really liked this attraction. With toddler we skipped the first part and only had a walk in the gardens, but there are couple of them so it takes times, before you see them all. I liked the free parking, the prices were good as well - you can only pay with the special coins that you exchange there. I will surely come back to have a nice walk. Outside there is also a ship with their own cosmetics etc.Written November 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Miroslav H102 contributionsNice option under the castle, 20-30 minutes visit is enough, variation of betlems.price is low, christmas spirit is there, nice large one on the 2nd floorWritten January 7, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lucie HPrague, Czech Republic406 contributionsExcellent museum to learn about history of planes in Europe. Parachute jump and flight simulators and viewing towers were interesting. Lots to do for children. They organise flights with their small planes at the local airfield.Written August 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - duhozBeroun, Czech Republic7,597 contributionsThe museum was created in the premises of the historic heating plant or depot of Buštěhradská dráhy with the largest collection of steam locomotives in the Czech Republic. Both adults and children can discover diesel locomotives and electric locomotives. A number of them have an equally rich history. You can also see service cars, a mail car or a brewery wagon for the delivery of beer and even enter it. A track with a narrow-gauge of 800 mm is also part of the exhibits. For safety reasons, it is not possible to enter most of the locomotives, but a few are accessible.
The exposition also includes other branches of railway transport. Security on the railway with functional signals, ticket office, uniforms, model trains and large functional platforms
Three times a day (10:00 12:30 15:00) it is possible to take part in a free guided tour, only in the Czech language. I recommend, a guide full of knowledge. The tour also included a unique tour of T.G. Masaryk's presidential train. For information in English, there is an info stand in near the cash desk. Info available also in Czech or German.
There is restaurant car where with outside seating where you can get some refreshment. This is the weakest point of the museum. Unfriendly staff and prefabricated meals,
Seasonal opening hours (June -August open daily except Monday) adult admission 190 CZK, family admission available, also free parking.Written August 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Janka KBrno, Czech Republic9,069 contributionsThe place is totally suitable for kids, or for some people nostalgic about Lego, such as me. My visit of the museum bought some memories, but there were also some Lego series that are new to me.
There are some bigger and more complex Lego figures both inside and outside parts of the museum. I can imagine that the outside yard must be very interesting for kids, especially in summer, since there are possibilities to play ball sports. For adults, the yard offers a café, that I assume is open in summer. I visited the place in November and the café was closed.
I find the placement of all texts about the original and history of the Lego a bit unfortunate. First of all, it's not very clear which text should be read after which one, and secondly, the space of the stairs is a bit narrow so you need to step back to be actually able to read anything. The stairs might be packed like that. At the same time, I understand that there is a lot of Lego showpieces and that everything is a bit squeezed in one house.
Unless you or your kids are totally into Lego, and unless you aim to read all the information at the stairs, the visit of the museum lasts about 1 hour.Written November 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The whole world knows and loves his New World Symphony, violoncello concerto and numerous operas. The house has a small museum devoted to Dvořák and his opuses. It is furnished with furniture of Dvořák's childhood and contains many exhibits connected with Dvořák's family, life and music. Dvořák's music is played during the visit. The visitors can relax in a lovely small garden with Dvořák statue.Written September 5, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Igor L4 contributionsThis is a small museum that is using wax figure to illustrate Czech history from medieval to modern. This is not a place to gawk on figures you will already recognize, unless you are Czech (of course, some figures are known world-wide). Instead, for the figures that are actually of historical persons, have your phone ready and look them up. There is also a very artsy 5-minute video at the beginning, which I did not care for.Written March 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KleopetraNorway461 contributionsWe visited the mining museum in November and enjoyed our visit very much. The place is rich for both history and industrial beauty. We got so much information and inside stories from a local guide Mr. Jan. Thank you very much.Written December 9, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
