First thing, get the combined ticket. We did not realize it was available online, we bought ours from the nearby tourist office.
We were a little surprised to see no queues given how well known this church is, in retrospect, we spent probably under 15 minutes inside. Not the type to be spooked normally but the sheer number of skulls and bones on display is a little strange. We have been to other churches that included bones before but none to this scale (and the way they were stacked up too!).

One thing, the no picture policy (and we know why), the average time one would spend inside and the cost of entry - there is a bit of disconnect here.

By the way TripAdvisor, "Add some photos" does not apply here as they don't let us take any!!

This is an amazing Cathedral with a crazy ancient history. We had been in Prague for two weeks looking at many churches, basilicas and cathedrals, so we were unsure if it was going to be worth the all-day trip including train rides just to see one more. It was.

The Cathedral itself is quite incredible, but the history of events over hundreds of years was mind boggling. I am surprised the Cathedral was actually finished; given what happened.

Allow plenty of time if you want to read all the information boards. I photographed them all and read them later, but I recommend you read the brochure you get at the ticket office, as you go around. It is really useful.

There is mainly coffee and the donut things at the actual cathedral, but if you walk down into the built up area, there are several cafes and restaurants to choose from.

There are several buses that go from the train station past the Cathedral, and you pay on the bus. When you come back to the station, it is tricky to ensure you are catching the correct train back to Prague, so allow yourself plenty of time, as it may be the platform on the far side that you need to be on. We wanted to buy tickets but found nowhere to buy them, and there was no ticket inspectors on the train, so it was a free ride for us.

By the way, the bone chapel is at Sedlec some distance away, so if you want to do both, and get the last express train back, (before a long wait till the next one), you need to leave Prague early; say about 9:30 am.

Very nice castle but do your research and be sure to go to the bathroom before going up to the castle. They are currently building a new visitor center and the portable lavatories are just terrible! We went on a weekend and it was very busy. Therefore a guided tour was not done. Food, beverage and shopping in the town just below the castle was very nice.
Be aware no cars are allowed there plenty of parking just below the town.

This castle really worth to visit.
They offer 5 routes, 3 of which I would recommend:
    1) Private apartments of Franz Ferdinand d'Este family (3rd tour)
    2) Apartments of the south wing of the castle (1st tour)
    3) Apartments of the north wing of the castle (2nd tour)

The only problem is, that these routes (especially Private apartments) are often fully booked, so it is necessary to buy tickets on-line ahead!

I visited Lidice around 10 years ago with an English and Czech friend. We visit Prague at least once a year and I have wanted to visit Lidice with my husband. This last week we finally made it with the same Czech friend, together with an Italian friend. I was amazed to see how much work had been carried out since my last visit. The museum’s with amazing film and photographic works with excellent documentation, and also outdoor work improvements. So heart rending. It surprises me that there are not more tour’s available from Prague as the whole Operation Anthropoid and the consequences which include Lidice should be made known more widely. The surprising peace of Lidice is difficult to explain, following the horror and appalling acts of absolute cruelty carried out by the Nazis on this tiny, hardworking, population of Lidice. Please God rest their souls.

Beautiful park close to Prague and easily accessable by bus. It belongs to just as beautiful castle but you can visit separately. It's a nice walk during any weather and any season. There are so many attractions, views, sights and sceneries to see. The park is huge, it is really a whole day trip to walk around the whole park. Keep in mind that you need a paid ticket to visit.

Beautiful castle, loads of rooms and (finally!!) an English tour! What the guide lacked in enthusiasm, he made up for in dry humor and knowledge about the castle. There are also sometimes events going on, so be aware of that.

A beautiful important baroque monastery and the Marian pilgrimage at the top of 586 m mountain close to Příbram where you can get easily by car or just walk up the covered stairs (365 flight of stairs) from the city. The site is formed by a rectangular complex measuring 80×72 m with four chapels in the corners and inside on the high stone terrace stands the originally Gothic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. There is museum or cellar to be visited (with fee). Peaceful place to relax and meditate.

A very big spacious cathedral, bought the combined ticket with the Bone Church and glad I did, it is a very spacious cathedral, plain but equally spectacular inside. I walked up to the rafters and along the top to get a great view down below.
    This is well worth visiting

I would like to express my great thankfulness to Ms. Monica for such a comprehensive, creative & personalized excursion. It was a delight to come across so many interesting, unexpected & exciting facts about the castle & it`s habitants (former & present).
The exhibition itself is very wide, maintained at its best & it`s definitely worth attending.
Surrounds are amazingly beautiful, especially in the month of October, so it`s highly recommended to get your cameras on to capture unbelievable colours of the fall.

My two young teens and I were on a half-day-trip from Prague and decided to try to see the silver mine. The woman selling tickets was very accommodating and kind even when I misunderstood that the self guided tour is only of the museum. Luckily for us, some booked guests didn’t show up so we were able to book an English guided tour of the mine at the last minute.

Our guide Vítek was terrific. His English is great, and he is friendly and entertaining. He was even able to condense the normal tour down to fit within the time we had. I really wish we could have gone slower and seen it all, but I do think we got the highlights and most of the information. My kids are a bit tired of tours and especially enjoyed getting the mine experience but skipping the museum.

The price is reasonable, and I recommend this unique experience. Be aware that the mine entrance is up a hill from the main building and then involves descending down many flights of stairs. The exit trip back has some stairs and then a small hill to climb. There is also a short section of the mine where you have to duck walk because the ceiling is so low.

A beautiful Neo-Gothic castle with a beautiful exhibition. We were guided through the castle by an experienced guide who was very kind and allowed us to take pictures of everything. Unfortunately, in front of the castle, the lawn was being modified, so there were no-entry tapes in front of the castle, which spoiled the overall impression. Not far from the castle is a small zoo with birds of prey and white deer.

As this beautiful Stately Home not far from Kutna Hora ( less than 39-min-drive)we went there having visited the Cemetery Bone Church and the. Assumption Cathedral.
No parking charges so went straight to see the Castle. There are different tours at certain times ( check website prior to your visit)we chose the servants quarters and to see the rooms. No guided tour in English but for the stately rooms there’s an English language booklet. The tours took about half an hour, between them you can explore the herbaceous garden and the park which is a very English style one.
    Well worth a visit.

Gothic Stone Fountain. The intensive mining activity of the Middle Ages disrupted the underground water sources. The problem was solved in 1495 when this stone fountain was constructed to serve as a water reservoir. Drinking water was brought via wooden piping from the spring of St. Adalbert and the town was supplied water this way until 1890.
