Curious architecture. Fantastic park. Old trees. Horse stables. No dogs allowed in the hotel :(

    Definitely worth visiting

I had half a day to waste, and stumbled upon the zoo while walking through the huge park beside the river. On a whim, and seeing discounts offered to Ukraine citizens, I went in. I wanted coffee, but at the entry cafe it was incredibly expensive, as did everything else appear to be. That was the only downside. The zoo itself is clean and well presented, all the enclosures had clear signage and the animals themselves looked happy to be there. It was a great experience overall.

We went there with three kids from the Age of 5 to 13. The prices are not so low, but basically you have all the attractions in this price - dinosaurs, ocean world, 5D cinema, lunapark and time tunnel and huge playground. I strongly recommend this place!

Big and tall building. View from outside is better because inside, the Cathedral is currently under the renovation. But when you inside the building you feel great admiration and respect to the Cathedral anyway.

We have been meaning to visit this village for a long time as it is in our voividship.

The small painted buildings are very attractive and the interiors beautifully decorated. There is a video in the barn that shows the annual competition held eveey year for the best paintings.

The only disappointment was there were not that many houses to see (and not possible to enter during Covid-19), which is strange given that it attracts visitors and so revenue to the village.

Try to visit Kielce if you can - the voivodeship capital.

it was very probably that today we would not have this Cathedral in Nysa as it was planned to be destroyed to get the bricks for rebuilding Warsaw. Thank God it never happened thanks to priest Kądziołka and we can now see this beautiful building.

I do not understand Polish but enjoyed the Variety of styles and Performers of the Music nevertheless. The receptionist offered me an audio-guide Instrument an this worked very well due to the excellent Technology of presentation of all the Songs.

The Castle of the Silesian Piasts is special in two ways: the castle itself with its lovely Renaissance gate and the museum it houses. By all means it is a must-visit place!

We were staying in Opole and the museum is reasonably close. As other reviewers have said Sebastian is the man to see, his knowledge is huge and he is generous with it. The museum covers a very wide area. From the main museum which has very informative displays and conveys a real picture of the life (and death) there, you can visit by car or bike many of the areas and cemetery. There is also an old airfield complete with control towers. All in all highly recommended.

Góra Świętej Anny (GSA) is a sleepy village in Opole province in Poland. It translates: Saint Anne’s Mountain since it rises above the whole region. Most people come to GSA to warship the miraculous statue of St. Anne (or Anna) in St. Anna’s Basilica. There is the Calvary (Kalwaria) with many chapels set at the beautifully treed slope that leads to Basilica (built in XV century). Then, there are long and steep stairs to the church. It is a famous pilgrimage place so be aware of pilgrims’ events since they could flood this place in thousands. Also, there some level of fitness required to get to the top. A few restaurants and hotel(s) nearby are ready for tourists and/or pilgrims. The basilica alone would be a perfect reason to visit this place!
The whole area is a historical marker/park to commemorate the events of 1921. The area was under German control at that time and witnessed the Polish/Silesian uprising. Afterword, the monument commemorating the victory of German forces was erected in this place. In 1945, the end of WWII brought this area into the Polish boundary. The old monument was “removed” and new one was constructed in 1955 ~ this time it was to recognize the Polish/Silesian fighters. Today, the Monument stands proudly on the cliff of old rock quarry. The short hike leads to the bottom where the huge amphitheatre was built by Germen. It is said the place could host 20,000 people. It is so enormous in size that it takes the breath away. The vertical rocky walls around, the light limestone benches around the bottom stage, the upper terrace with the massive flag pole ~ they are all just amazing. It is also said that during the Nazi’s era, the young Germen had there their massive gatherings with all propaganda insignias, flags, and night torches. After the WWII the place saw the new era. On the anniversary of the Silesian Uprising, the thousands of workers were brought here by busses by the Communist Party organizers. The huge rallies probably matched the old gathering in size.
And now it is all just a history. Wow! The amphitheatre is abandoned and slowly taken by the forest. Most of the time, it is an empty and quiet place, which is great because it is easy to close eyes and see its troubled past. There are not many enchanted places like this one, and in my opinion it is worth yes vote in the helpful category.
