Have only one thing to say : it's worth every second to spend there both on the road /Lyseveien or at the fjord down at Lysebotn .Every piece of nature is mesmerizing .

Nice conditions on and off-piste, a bit busy in the weekends so some waiting time here and there. Many different slopes and courses and friendly staff. Great food and beer at Kjerag Lodge.

Ålsheia Alpint is the place to be for the skiing youth in Sirdal. You will find Youtube-music and a sweaty snackbar at the resort. I am too old for the narrow tracks and the secondary school guests. Many years ago Ålsheia was the place to be in Sirdal. Today the status is different.

A great hike up from Ålsheia Ski.
The path along the stream is not the very best, but as long as you stick close to the stream you will find you way until the path becomes more visible when climbing up Gunnareshei. We ended up doing a detour to Storeknut, as we blindly followed the red marks when they occurred after having crossed under the power lines. At this point we should have turned left and followed the blue markings to Røseknuten, but to summits in a day is even better than one.
Røseknuten has a great view, and is well worth the visit. On the track from Ålsheia we meet a deer, 8 grouse, a hawk and even a little lizard.
Great hike along a beautiful green valley before the real climb starts.

The crash site at Flerehei is well worth a visit, as it brings some history into the hike.
However, the hike is TOUGH. Not because it is long, or has challenging navigation, but because the first 2 kilometers where you follow a dirt/stone road, takes you straight into the sky. Walking up requires healthy lungs, coming back down again requires good knees (poles recommended).
After the road up, the hike takes you through some marshes and beautiful open landscape, where we could see mouse tracks all over the place.
The crash site is spread over a concentrated area, and there is a plaque in memory of the dead on the upper edges of the area (follow the red markers all the way to the end).
