- Alessandro FMilan, Italy25,870 contributionsInside the courtyard of the Collegiata, beside the Baptistery, there is this small museum with several pictures and precious manuscripts.
Many tourists leaves the feedback only on this activity thinking is for the all church of Collegiata .....Written March 1, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - giorgio mMilan, Italy7 contributionsThe visit of Collegiata has been one of the best esthetic experience of my life. First, in order to get there, you must walk through the super cute medieval hidtoric center of Castiglione Olona. Then you must take a steep stone paved medieval path of about 200 meters surrounded by forest, river and medieval constructions that definitely puts you back in time and rises your curiosity and emotion.
The you see a typical medieval tower with clock and bells with rotating wheels, and you pass the gate of the complex.
When finally you enter this old church fully fresqued by early renaissance 1400 paitings you have an esthetic shock. Just amazing, also because this beauty is fully unexpected, not known, not publicised.
Going out from the church there is a small museum with few valuable paintings by Giacomino da Panicale, nice but nothing extraordinary.
I thought my experience was finished and I walked to the end of the garden in a small construction where I had one of the most valuable esthetic experience of my life!! In the only room there is The Annunciazione by Masolino da Panicale, a large painting in bad conservation state, but showing incredible amazingly delicate posture and face expressions.

The character of this building is the hat with columns, marvelous.
On facade you can admire the giants statues of Saint Christopher on the right and Saint Antony on the left.
The internal is a square room with a high dome without decorations, many statues can be admired on walls, beautiful the fresco on the right side depicting the Madonna between Saint Sebastian and Saint Rocco dated back on 15th century.Written February 24, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Here there is the palace he decided to built for himself, beautiful example of Renaissance palace.
