We made a short visit from Guadalajara. The lake is huge and has many white pelicans that I have never seen before, among other birds. There are many options for food and drinks. Mostly regional but also many establishments offer options for foreign tourists.

I enjoyed walking the Malecon and the pier. There are some beautiful sights to see. The market is relatively small but pleasant and the chuch is beautiful.

You can't miss this towering church in the heart of town. Stop in for a moment to enjoy the architecture and solitude.

With all due respect to the performers, you do not want them naked. They, like me, are up in years and you don't want to see them naked.

So what is "The Naked Stage?" No sets. No backgrounds. Just stools for the performers to sit on and then read the plays. And so, they are performing "naked," without all the accoutrements one might normally find in the theater.

But it is the vocal inflections and performances by the actors that give the shows so much character.

The first performance we saw was, as many of them are, a comedy about women in a nursing home. I hated the lead actress! No, I didn't hate HER. I hated the character she did such a good job portraying. We have greatly enjoyed every show we have seen there and unlike Lakeside Little Theater, Naked Stage has performances throughout the summer as well. Seating is limited and reservations are suggested. Their Facebook page has the names of upcoming shows listed.

My wife and I went here. We took a 1 hour boat experience. About 15 minutes to get to the island. Then we wandered the island and had a drink - about 45 minutes on the island - that's all we needed. We enjoyed the boat ride to the island and back to Chapala. The Island is very simple and somewhat run down. You can walk around exploring for no more than 20-30 minutes. There are several nice simple restaurants to enjoy a drink or basic food. And a few souvenirs.

I’ve only ridden a few times, but the horse selected for me was easy to handle, gentle, not too bossy and not intimidating. 😉 The trail through the hills provides gorgeous views down to the lake. Our guides were knowledgeable about the trails and the surrounding area. The selection of riding boots was plentiful. After the ride, Stephanie spent another hour with us showing us around the ranch, talking about her horses and other critters, her faithful rescue dog that never leaves her side, how she has developed the ranch over the years and provided us a ride back into Chapala.
This experience makes me want to do another trail ride at Rancho San Francisco!
