The castle is now being run by a young man who has a keen interest in it and the village it is in. He hope to offer guided tours of the castle and village in the near future.

This shop is a little treasure within the castle walls. A large range of items, including lots of handmade items that are made by the owners onsite. Have visited a few times and always found something i didn't notice before. Well worth a visit.

Very pretty church with amazing views down into the valley below.
Take a guided walk around Evoramonte and you will pass this church and learn it's history.

There isn't much to see. The house was closed and locked up. There was a plaque above the door and a paper notice pinned to the door. It is here that the peace treaty was signed in by the Absolutists and the Liberals in 1834, which ended with the Civil War in Portugal. The plaque above the door reads, in translation, 'On May 26, 1834 in this house of Joaquim Antonio Sarmago was signed the Evoramonte Convention that restored peace in Portugal. A pity that more is not made of this historic location.
