Sibyl's cave is beautiful, the walkways among the trees are so enjoyable, the different temples as you go uphill and the stunning views from above.
Of all the many sites I've explored in Italy and Sicily, this one moved me the most--the geometry of the entrance walls is stunning, the overall design resonant of Virgil's lines, the labyrinthine purpose of the a...

The tour was amazing, honestly she knew so much, the videos inside the site were awesome and we got to go inside the church too and see the paintings.
Definitely worth a visit to get a feel for how life actually was for everyday people here - the visual and audio displays help bring it to life too.

The underground areas are exceptionally well preserved and visitors can witness the huge effort that was put in to building a place to keep and present spectacles with wild animals and gladiators.
... or go the museum in Baia first as both close at 1pm and 2pm respectively and then you can spend the rest of your Saturday or Sunday exploring the wonderful Rione Terra site and other attractions in the town.

It was well preserved underwater and even now that its been drained the ruins are still in great shape and the city has done a beautiful little garden around the perimeter.
I also took photos of two things especially: the evidence of marine creatures on the columns, a puzzle that helped lead to the understanding of Bradyseism, and the sage placement of public latrines at the corners.

Take your time over a visit here and be sure to go into the so called 'temple of Mercury', which is covered by one of the oldest concrete domes in the world.
There are a few free parking places there on site and there were hardly any tourists there while we were there.

It was an interesting place to see (especially after doing a subterranean tour elsewhere in the morning and having a bit of insight) with ancient wells and artifacts from WW2.
On the road to the cemetery we came across this place initially giving the impression of a tourist shop, but it proved to be far more than that, with a little fantasy it’s a cave of curiosities built from scratch...
