Beautiful Old Church, walking up the hill via the “ stations of the cross” visited the small Chapel, a quiet and peaceful place for prayer and reflection, nice view of the area. when in Amberg if you are a religious person you must visit the place, it is a very rewarding journey.

If I had to choose only one thing one must see in Amberg it would definitely be this building. From the town centre walking along the river Vils it takes about 10 minutes and it is enjoyable experience. Don't miss it.

It is quite a cosy and comfortable complex. We were here during the week which was quite comfortable and not over crowded. I assume at the weekend it would be much more crowded and probably inconvenient.
Very clean and hygienic. Everything is alright except for some guests who jump into the ice pool after the sauna without taking a shower but I suppose that would be impossible for the staff to control. Very recommendable. I found it excellent that they forbid application of cell phones and cameras inside the complex. Nothing is more tiresome than people talking on their cellphones in a SPA complex.

Set in the heart of the small old city, this basilica (ordained by Pope John Paul II) has very beautiful windows - obviously, they survived the two world wars! Very impressive also the central altar: the brilliantly illuminated "heart of the church".

Great place to spend the day with kids. Area for kids to swim, wading area, plus several play areas for kids. Stand to buy food, drinks and ice cream. Less than 30 min walk from the city center.

We love Amberg. It’s one of the few cities in Germany I’ve walked around the entire mote. The mote is a fantastic green space and is well maintained for walking or just relaxing. There are many great bars and restaurants inside the wall as well as a nice shopping area and a few churches. The square is beautiful.

My wife and I initially thought we were visiting a museum associated with the German Luftwaffe. Not quite. This museum deals with air - devices, paintings, etc. related to air. Be prepared for something unexpected. If you have some spare time in Amberg, it is worth a visit for an hour or so.

We stopped in to check out the church while wandering around the city on a Saturday. Very nice inside. Numerous paintings, ornate sculptures. It truly is a great place to stop for 15mins and check out.

The town hall is according to me the most beautiful building in Amberg. In a sunny day it was shining and took a breath away. I don't think it is possible to miss it when visiting this lovely town. It attracts anyone's attention without too much searching.

This amazing church formed part of a monastery (Salesians) - with the most exquisite rococo forms I have ever seen. It is absolutely a must if you happen to pass through Amberg!
